Jason Morgan has been back on the General Hospital scene since March. During that time, Jason's love life has been nonexistent, but that doesn't mean fans want to see him single forever.
General Hospital teases renewed romance for Jason
During the six months that Jason has been reacquainting himself with life in Port Charles, GH has teased moments with three previous love interests. Jason's scenes with Carly confirmed their deep friendship, but Jason made it clear that he liked things the way they were. While Carly and Jason wed in 2021, that union ended just a few hours later when Sonny returned from the dead just before Jason and Carly fell into bed.
Jason has also had some contentious scenes with Sam, who resented him for faking his death and leaving her as a single mom to their son, Danny. Jason's other baby mama, Elizabeth, has been much kinder to Jason. They even shared some sweet scenes by the Metro Court pool after her dramatic breakup with Finn.
However, Kelly Monaco will be leaving the soap this fall when Sam will reportedly be killed off. That leaves her out of contention as Jason's new-old love interest. The possibility of a reunion with Elizabeth is still on the table, but she seems to be more involved with Lucky and Ric's returns at the moment. Does that mean Jason could be paired with someone new?
Enter Ava Jerome
When Steve Burton returned as the real Jason Morgan in 2017 (Drew Cain believed he was Jason at the time), fans learned he had been known as Patient 6 while being held captive in a Russian clinic for five years. Ava Jerome was in that same clinic, awaiting plastic surgery to repair her burned face. When Ava learned her doctor was nefarious, she and Jason escaped the clinic together and became fast friends.
Jason even stayed in Ava's apartment before he revealed himself to his loved ones, but once he learned that Ava was one of Sonny's latest enemies, Jason backed away from his blossoming friendship with her.
When Jason rescued Ava from "Agent" Boyle, the woman John hired to keep Ava captive, Jason and Ava's friendship seemed to spark again. While Jason and Ava's scenes with Anna and Diane at the police station were anything but romantic, fans saw some potential for a pairing and expressed interest on X (formerly Twitter).
"Ava and Jason forced to help each other??? I know I'm probably in the minority but I quite enjoyed the friendly chemistry between Ava & Patient 6 before he found out about Morgan," @ItsXaviion tweeted.
Ava is suddenly single again now that her last two potential love interests—Austin and John—are dead. Could "Java" be on the way, or will someone new come to town and catch Jason's eye? Stay tuned to find out.
