What is General Hospital star Laura Wright's Sacred Space?

General Hospital's Laura Wright as Carly Spencer.

Since 2005, Laura Wright has been playing the feisty Carly Spencer on General Hospital. The fourth actress to take on the character, she’s been the longest lasting. While many fans feel Carly often gets inserted into storylines where she doesn’t belong, she’s definitely grown and evolved over the years. Carly’s gone from being a schemer to turning into someone that her late mother, Bobbie Spencer (Jacklyn Zeman), would have been proud of. Wright has been very candid about playing the character and has often participated in fan events, answering pressing questions. Now she continues to use her platform called Sacred Space to interact with fans one on one, outside of social media.

She found her Sacred Space

On September 17, Wright posted a picture of herself on Instagram with the caption:

My next Sacred Space is November 17th !!! A Sacred Space was created because of YOU - so many of you reached out with questions after my State of Mind with Maurice and since then we have had so many beautiful moments!! I can’t wait for you to join me in a Sacred Space ❤️ the link is in my bio xoxox.

The event takes place on Zoom, and according to the Sacred Space Facebook page, “Laura will be connecting with her fans and discussing the different ways we can navigate through challenging times on Zoom!” Wright did several shows in 2023 and now is back for more.

State of Mind started it all

After her appearance on her General Hospital co-star Maurice Benard’s (Sonny Corinthos) YouTube mental health series, State of Mind, the fans wanted more of her. So she obliged by creating Sacred Space. On her Instagram post, Benard responded with:

She blew up State of Mind. She has great things to say.

The fans were excited for the event, and many were talking about attending. The prices are far more reasonable than in-person meet-and-greets, with several tiers. Zoomie tickets are limited to 15 at $40, and fans will be seen on the screen with Wright. Then there’s the $75 level for Superzoom tickets, which allow fans to also appear with Wright for the entire show, along with the added bonus of being able to participate 30 minutes longer than the allotted 75 minutes. Fans who are on the Superzoom level will also receive a non-personalized video from Wright via email a week before the show.

The show starts at 7:00 p.m. EST, with the Superzoom portion beginning at 8:30 p.m. EST. Wright has been very open with fans, sharing some details from her personal life, and this event is an opportunity for her followers to ask the questions they’ve been dying to know the answers to.

While it’s not written anywhere, fans should know that Wright most likely won’t answer any questions about events that haven’t happened on General Hospital yet, but she probably will offer a teaser here and there. With many other actors also appearing in person around the country as well as online, Sacred Space fits right in by filling the fans’ need for more of their favorite actors.
