General Hospital's Aiden has been living most of his life without a father around, but he might not know that he almost ended up with a different father thanks to an affair and some very soap-like DNA test machinations.
Aiden's auspicious beginnings
Elizabeth Baldwin first believed her youngest son was a result of her affair with Nikolas Cassadine. With her relationship with Lucky Spencer in the toilet, Elizabeth slept with his brother, a man she had been friends with since high school.

When Liz found out she was pregnant, she quickly had a paternity test done, but we all know we can't trust paternity tests in a soap opera town. It's too easy to tamper with, especially when you're a Cassadine. The all-powerful Helena Cassadine managed to fiddle with Elizabeth's DNA tests and made it seem like Nikolas was Aiden's dad. Helena was forever searching for new heirs, so to see her beloved grandson become a father again was a dream come true. She didn't care if it was all a lie.
After Aiden was born, serial killer Franco kidnapped the infant, but Dante and Jason tracked him down and returned him to who they thought were his rightful parents.
A big surprise for General Hospital's Elizabeth
Not long after, Monica Quartermaine found it curious how much Aiden resembled Lucky as a baby. With a seed now planted in Elizabeth's head, she decided to have another DNA test performed. Lo and behold, Elizabeth learned that Lucky was indeed her baby's father.
However, it was months before Lucky learned the truth because Elizabeth had to deal with the alleged death of her second son, Jake. The boy was hit by a car and presumed dead but a few years later we learned Helena had kidnapped the boy and only made Jason and Elizabeth believe Jake had been killed thanks to Luke Spencer driving drunk.
It was Lucky who found Jake in 2015 and brought him home, but by then he had been out of Elizabeth's and Aiden's lives for several years.
Lucky the deadbeat dad
Needless to say, Aiden hasn't had much of a relationship with his father through the years and might have been better off if Nikolas had turned out to be his dad after all. Ironically, the only real father figure Aiden ever had was Franco, the man who kidnapped him as a newborn. After Franco's serial-killing ways were explained away with a brain tumor the doctors removed, Elizabeth fell in love with and married Franco. Sadly, Franco was killed in 2021.
Now, Aiden wants to get to know his father, but Lucky is still a restless soul who can't stay in one place for too long. Of course, it's always possible that we one day learn that the first paternity tests were right all along and that Aiden's uncle is actually his father. That would certainly put a whole new spin on Elizabeth's life — and the term brotherly love.
