The rise and fall of Jason and Drew Quartermaine: General Hospital Two Scoops for the week of December 16

Alan Quartermaine's twins had two very different weeks that brought things full circle for the first time in 30 years. And it was Tracy who made it all happen and then seemed pleased with the results of her unwitting handiwork. Any time the Quartermaines take center stage, General Hospital shines. Of course, the week wasn't without a few clunkers and frustrating moments. And Curtis. This week we really loved Curtis.

Jason's a Q again, let us rejoice

The stage was set earlier this month when Jason decided to move back into the Quartermaine mansion nearly 30 years after the accident that turned him into the friendly neighborhood hitman he is today. And, it all came to fruition right before Christmas as Tracy declared that her hitman nephew is more of a Quartermaine than the lying, cheating congressman who saw his fall from grace this week.

Then, miracle upon miracle, Jason agreed with his acerbic aunt, and we threw up our hands in praise of the moment poor Monica had waited for since 1996: when her precious baby boy woke up with no idea who she or he was. Well, it took long enough because now Jason knows. He's a Quartermaine, has always been a Quartermaine, and will continue to be one, albeit reluctantly.

This writer has been asking (no, begging) for this to happen for as long as Monica. We waited patiently — or maybe impatiently — for GH to make it so one way or another. The writers made it pretty clear back in 1996 that Jason's brain damage was irreversible, but since this is a soap, we hoped that one day Jason Q would emerge again, and he has. Slowly. Very, very slowly. Twenty-eight years slowly, but here we are.

Rather than Jason having another fateful car accident, he grew up into a Q. Monica always reminded Jason how the life he didn't remember started, even with Tracy fighting her every step of the way. But it was Tracy who saw the truth about both of her brother's sons. Even the creepy stalker.

Drew is still ewww

As Jason embraced his Q identity (embraced is a relative term, as this is still Stone Cold we are talking about), Drew's true colors were on display for all to see — in amazing Technicolor, too, kinda. Tracy put Drew in his place as only she could, calling him out for the freeloading poseur he is. And he proved his aunt right over and over again all week.

How nice of Drew to rub salt in Michael's wounds and tell him that he just didn't understand what he and Willow had. And of course, Stalker Drew had to see Willow, talk to Willow, text Willow...

Don't we all love guys who blow up our phones with text after text after knocking on our door unannounced to find we're not home? Of course, we would hit "decline" on his calls. Just as Willow did. Drew didn't care that Willow was ignoring him. He had to track her down as she volunteered at a flu shot clinic and pull her aside to talk despite her telling him they really shouldn't see one another.

Of course, Willow went and made one of her dumber moves (and that is saying a lot for a woman who neglected to treat her cancer and then wondered how it progressed to stage 4). She invited Drew to Nina's place for Christmas Eve. Where is our face-palm emoji when we need it?

Can we have The Tracy Show?

We just want Tracy everywhere, every day, in every — and any — way we can get her. The years that Jane Elliot would just pop in every once in a while were dull and lonely in the house. This week, she did it all. She told Drew where to put himself, sparred with Marty, reunited with Lulu, and welcomed Jason back into the family fold. Oh, and she even swallowed her pride and apologized to Sasha. After more than four decades, Tracy deserves her own spin-off, but not one where she takes her baby to live in a loft in New York City.

Grannies take over

The one fallout from the Drew-Willow hot mess we are not looking forward to is watching Nina and Carly go out at it again with their claws out. We had a whole year-long reprieve from this ridiculous and played-out battle that started nearly five years ago when Carly convinced Nina to testify against Nelle on Willow and Michael's behalf. Carly liked Nina for that one brief moment, but it was all downhill from there. And it looks like 2025 will roll us further down the hill until we hit rock bottom. Yay?

Someone, please listen to Chase

Finally, finally, finally, someone said it. Willow needs therapy. Intense therapy. Never-ending therapy. She grew up in a cult while the "mother," who essentially kidnapped her from her real mother, handed her over to be raped by the cult leader. Willow may have escaped the cult, but she never escaped that cult mentality and her penchant for creepy older dudes she sees as heroes.

But why did Chase have to point this out? Why couldn't Willow's beloved and attentive husband suggest a visit to Kevin's office or a trip to Shadybrook?

Curtis, you clever man, you

Three cheers for Curtis. Or even a billion cheers. A trillion cheers? Not only did he steal Aurora right from under Drew, but he also got Michael to commit what was likely insider trading. Whether that was intentional or not remains to be seen, but if it was, that's a whole lot of LOL right there.

Yep, it was certainly a good week for Curtis. The clever man got tired of his alleged BFF being a louse and took charge. He was later rewarded by the return of Marshall on Christmas Eve.

(As an aside, while we watched the Ashfords celebrate Christmas, we were reminded of last Christmas when Spencer joined Trina and the fam and shed a silent tear in memorium for Sprina).

One big happy family?

Despite us preferring Elizabeth with Jason, it looks like Jason is being reserved for Sasha (ok, we will take it as a consolation prize). It also looks like GH is going full speed ahead on Lucky and Liz , Part We Don't Even Know Already. Lucky now seems to be an honorary member of the family between him serenading Liz with their teenage song and him being there when Cameron made his surprise return home from school. Guess we gotta just sigh and roll with it.

But at least we got Cameron and Cam's guitar singing for the fam, with Lucky sitting there as if he hadn't abandoned all of them for the last decade. Ho-hum.

Can Joss keep Cam?

Yeah, so Dex's death? It didn't hit like Sam's. Sure, we got Josslyn crying over his dead body for half an episode, but Dex wasn't Sam. Not even close. He was a character who'd been hanging around Port Charles for the last two years or so and who we knew nothing about. Well, we knew he liked football, he was in the military, and his dad was abusive toward his mom. But that was it. He had no ties to the canvas except for Joss loving to have sex with him. In fact, after two years together, all Joss and Dex ever did was have sex and talk about Sonny. So yeah, no tears were shed.

However, we were sad to see Cam come and go. At this point, the character is desperately needed — especially with Joss being single again. Joss needs a boy, and there is an unresolved story left between her and Cam. Can we keep Cam? Please, GH, give Will Lipton whatever he wants to get him to come play again. Pretty please.

Yep, Brook Lynn's a mom. Sigh.

Please tell us that Josslyn isn't going to end up with Gio, who looks more like he is Aiden's age than Aiden. While it would give Gio something to do aside from playing the violin, we feel he will be plenty busy when he learns that Brook Lynn is his mom and either Cody or Dante is his dad.

There are more anvils than we can count telling us this is going to happen. From the look on Brook Lynn's face when Chase talked about having their first child together to BLQ crying to Maxie as she feared she wouldn't be able to get pregnant. We were half expecting her to slip and say, "this time." The Brook Lynn and Gio bonding scene was the icing on the cake. Brook Lynn is this kid's mother, and another stereotypical soap story is born that takes some major liberties with the timeline.

Thank God for Ric and Ava

What week on GH isn't complete without the glorious pair that is Ric and Ava? We only got a small taste of them that left us wanting more. They even almost kissed, but Alexis' pointless phone call put the kibosh on that. They are everything we could ever hope for, and they can have their own spin-off, just like Tracy. Rava FOREVER! Rejoice!

Until next week, GH fans. In the meantime, we hope your holiday is everything you want it to be, no matter how you choose to celebrate.
