Welcome to the General Hospital Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:
What happened on General Hospital
GH has taken its most childish character (but in a good way!) and given him to the children — and it works. Cody Bell started his tenure in Port Charles befriending Leo as he taught him to ride Comet, the horse Ned and Olivia got him as part of his autism therapy. He then developed a special relationship with young James, who even ran away from home to be with Cody. Now, he is Donna's new pal. They were short and sweet scenes, but a nice finishing touch during a week that was about friendship, family, parenting, and sibling bonds. Cody is not related to Donna, but Donna didn't care. She also didn't understand why Cody wanted to teach her to tie knots, but when he whipped out some candy as a bribe, Donna was there for it. Perhaps this works because GH has some of the cutest kids we have ever seen on soaps. Donna never ceases to put a smile on our faces, while James always makes us chuckle. However, we couldn't help noticing the irony in her helping Cody take his medication after she swallowed Sonny's meds, thinking they were candy last year, and had to have her stomach pumped. She gave Cody her very special medicine cup to help his aspirin go down right. Sometimes soaps need these quiet moments that don't move the story, but do make us smile.
