The curious case of Cody's big mouth: General Hospital Two Scoops for the week of February 3, 2025

Cody Bell is confusing everyone on General Hospital, including his own self. He also spent the past week completely annihilating every bit of character growth we have seen over the last two years. The bottom line is — don't ever tell this grown man anything because even his teenage self keeps a better secret than the manchild he is now.

Cody can't stop talking

Did your jaw not fall to the floor when Brook Lynn mentioned the baby she had all those years ago to Cody, and he had plain forgotten all about it until she brought it up? Um, his teenage best friend knocked up said best friend's teenage neighbor at summer camp, but it slipped Cody's mind??!?!? Is that how he managed to keep the news a secret from Dante for the last two decades but couldn't keep Sasha's "secret" contained in his brain for more than a minute?

What was Cody even thinking telling anyone who would listen that Jason fathered Sasha's child? And why would he even jump to that conclusion? Has Cody never seen a woman ask a friend to feel her baby kick before? It's not exactly an unusual thing here on Earth. Why would anyone then leap to the conclusion that the friend has to be the father of the child? But this is Cody we're talking about, and he's not exactly playing with a full deck despite his illegal card-playing games for Selina Wu.

Maxie, Anna, Drew...who else would Cody have told if Sasha didn't put a stop to this utter nonsense? We're surprised he didn't rent out a skywriting plane so that Port Charles and beyond could learn the blessed news. He didn't even apologize to Sasha when she finally confronted him. Instead, he made poor excuses for his poor behavior and tried to get Sasha to confirm the rumor that he started.

Just the idea that GH now wants to pair Cody with sweet, mature, and intelligent Molly is outrageous. She is way out of this league. After this week, every woman in Port Charles is out of his league. Cody hates Drew but lately has had no trouble acting like Drew...kinda...cause Drew. We'd say words fail us, but...

Seriously, Drew? SERIOUSLY?!?!?

How did the former Navy SEAL who just wanted to get away from Sonny's danger and be a family man with Sam morph into this absolute SHNOOK, as Lois put it? And that's putting it mildly. Drew has absolutely no redeeming qualities left at this point and can't stop making enemies everywhere he goes.

The Quartermaines want his head on a platter, and the same goes for the Corinthos clan and Ashford fam. This week, Drew showed his true colors to Laura, Jordan, Anna, the Deception team, and the entire Metro Court. Scaling the fence at the Q estate using his Navy SEAL skills he shouldn't even remember and digging for dirt on Curtis was child's play compared to his activities at the Metro Court.

Drew felt absolutely ZERO remorse when Carly called him out for having sex with his nephew's wife in his nephew's bed. At least he wasn't his brother Jason, who "knocked up the family cook." That condescending and completely disrespectful remark was enough to set Sasha off, as it should have. Only when Drew realized Sasha heard every word he said did he become apologetic, but only because he was called out in public.

At least we got all that soapy goodness out of it. Public scandalous reveals are what soaps are made of. Having the Deception ladies at a table in the corner was pure perfection. Between Lucy, Brook Lynn, Tracy, Maxie, and Lulu, the reaction shots were everything we could have dreamed of. Tracy took our breath away as always because Jane Elliot can't stop making us laugh until we cry.

Can someone commit Willow to Shadybrook, please?

Willow reached new heights in ridiculous this week, while Drew reached new heights in creepy eww behavior. We'd say they're the perfect gruesome twosome pair, except they make our skin crawl, and we need it to end. Please.

Nina and Brook Lynn wanted to rip their hair out right along with us as they tried to reason with Willow in a good cop-bad cop sort of way. Nina tried to gently guide her daughter away from the cliff of insanity while Brook Lynn tried some Brooklyn-style tough love. Neither approach work because Drew has clearly sucked the brain right out of Willow's head.

Willow is right back in her own private cult, unable to resist that Drew charm that only she can see. When Drew put his hand on Willow's cheek while standing in Nina's living room, it put a shiver down our spine. He can't live unless he can control her, and she can't live unless she is being controlled. It's still unclear to us whether GH planned to make this story one of control and abuse or whether the show fell into it. Either way, 'Drillow' is disturbing on every possible level.

The Granny Detente?

The long-running Granny Wars took quite a turn this week when both Nina and Carly realized they actually agreed on something. Drew is trash, and Willow has lost her damn mind. Carly was a little reluctant to work with Nina, but Nina was her usual insistent self. When she gets something in her mind, there is no stopping her.

We admit we were as surprised as Carly when Nina apologized for stealing Sonny from Carly, especially when Sonny genuinely fell in love with Nina and Carly wasted no time marrying Jason when she thought that Sonny was dead. Was the apology necessary? Maybe, if it lets us move on from the never-ending Granny Wars that have been going on for nearly five years.

We can't wait to see what Nina and Carly come up with to split up the most nauseating "couple" GH has given us in years. At least there will be entertainment value with this alliance. That's why we watch.

Thanks for stating the obvious, Lois

Was anyone surprised — ANYONE — when Lois made her announcement that Gio Palmieri was her grandson? Dun, dun, dun! Who couldn't see that coming since the day Gio arrived in Port Charles to oddly attend Brook Lynn and Chase's wedding last spring?

How quaint that while her mother was with a lawyer trying to cover up the truth, Brook Lynn was bonding with her son just as his father entered the room! It's one big happy family in Monica's house, except nobody knows it. Maybe now that Lois said the words, we can get this slow-moving show on the road.

Tracy says it all

Since Christmas, GH has been giving us gift after gift, week after week, with Jane Elliot's Tracy, and we couldn't be more grateful. From Tracy accidentally streaming Drew and Willow's sex tryst on the big screen TV to Tracy going to jail, it's been nothing but pure joy.

This week, we got to see Tracy's always spot-on facial reactions to her hated nephew Drew being outed as the louse he is for the whole Metro Court restaurant to hear. She never imagined that a boring Deception meeting could be so fun, but never forget Tracy's tender heart.

When Tracy finds someone to champion, she goes for it with gusto. This week, she realized that Sasha really is something and maybe just like her. Tracy took Sasha aside and surprised her when she offered her unmitigated support for Sasha as a single mom. After all, Tracy did it, which means any woman can do it, right? We think we are going to love Tracy as Sasha's other mom while her real mom runs cons in Europe.

Dangerous Digitalis games

It's only a matter of time before someone botches the investigation into the Digitalis deaths. Let's count how many people are working on this who are not an official part of the investigation. We have Elizabeth, Lucky, Lucas, Josslyn, and Dante so far. Liz is getting Ric involved, Josslyn is screwing everything up and has the WSB unofficially involved, and Dante could compromise the trial, but he doesn't seem to care.

Now that Danny and Rocco both know that Sam was murdered and did not die from a hospital mixup or a natural heart attack, we can see two teenage boys getting involved, too. Maybe Alexis' idea to tell Danny about his mom without consulting his father first wasn't such a good idea after all.

And then there's Sonny being prescribed a new heart medication, which can possibly somehow lead EVERYONE in the wrong direction. Uh-oh...more trouble is coming. Till next week, GH fans...
