Let's face it. General Hospital's Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) needs a love interest. He's been back on the Port Charles scene for nearly a year and has been spending his time counting coffee beans, calming down Carly (Laura Wright), and oddly enough, calming down Anna (Finola Hughes).
Jason's love life has been non-existent, save for a few chemistry tests here and there and some scenes with past loves. However, the most unlikely of pairings seems upon us, and it's honestly not a bad idea.
Unexpected chemistry

During the six years that Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) has been part of the Port Charles scene, she and Jason barely shared a scene together. That's why it seemed a bit odd when Jason risked all just after Sam died to save Sasha from Sidwell (Carlo Rota). Sure, he was doing it as a favor to Anna, but even Jason's new unwavering loyalty to Anna is weird.
Oddly enough, that unusual scenario produced some inklings that Jason and Sasha might have chemistry. More than a month later, some scenes in the Quartermaine kitchen confirmed there is indeed an unexpected connection between Jason and Sasha and we want to see more.
Deja vu for Jason...and the fans?
Sasha is in quite a pickle herself. After a drunken one-night stand in which she slept with her ex Michael (Chad Duell), Sasha now finds herself pregnant after tragically losing her newborn son two years ago just before Christmas. (Surprisingly, GH acknowledged the anniversary of Liam's death this week.)
With Michael not long for the Port Charles world (for now), we know Sasha and Michael aren't going to get their second chance. Sasha is also determined to keep the identity of her baby daddy a secret so she doesn't damage Michael's marriage any more than it's already been damaged. If Willow loses Michael to a presumed death or jail (we think jail), Sasha will be more focused than ever on not revealing who fathered her child.
Enter Jason. Sonny's (Maurice Benard) favorite hitman is no stranger to pretending other children are his own. He did Carly a solid when Michael was born and told everyone he was her child's dad when he knew his brother AJ (then played by Billy Warlock) fathered Michael. Years later, he posed as the father of Sam's (Kelly Monaco) first child when baby daddy Sonny decided to reunite with Carly. We can definitely see him posing as the father of Sasha's child when he learns she is pregnant and needs someone to claim the baby as his.
Is Sasha another Sam?
The similarities between Sasha and Sam are eerie. Sasha lost her son due to a placental abruption, while Sam lost her first child due to the same end-of-pregnancy incident. Sam also arrived in town as a con artist who was really a member of one of the most famous GH families, the Cassadines.
Sasha also arrived in town as a con hired by Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) to pose as Nina's (Cynthia Watros) daughter. Just recently, we learned she is a member of the Scorpio clan, and Robert (Tristan Rogers) and Holly (Emma Samms) are Sasha's parents. If Jason poses as a dad this time around, he would be pretending to be the father of Sonny's grandchild rather than his child.
Oddly enough, he would also be posing as the father of Carly's grandchild rather than her child, who is also the grandchild of his brother AJ. Can it get any more bizarre? Why, yes. Yes, it can.
It's a small world after all
There was a collective scream among fans and a rush to hide our eyes when Jason and Anna kissed earlier this year. That was the last thing we ever expected or wanted when Jason returned from the dead (again) in March. After all, Anna is the mother of Jason Morgan's first love, Robin Scorpio (Kimberly McCullough).
Well, guess what? Sasha is not Robin's half-sister. If Jason and Sasha were to fall in love while he posed as her baby daddy (a la Jason and Sam), it would give new meaning to keeping it in the family.
Still, we want to see it. Against all odds, Jason and Sasha just kind of work. They both feel like fish out of water in the Quartermaine mansion, and they both deserve a little happiness and love in their lives. Poor Sasha has been through the wringer the last few years, so an unexpected romance with a very lonely Jason may be just what she needs.
