Jason Morgan and Steve Burton are back on General Hospital, but how long will it last?
Jason's latest return from the dead seems to be all anyone in Port Charles or on General Hospital social media can talk about.
In the midst of this comeback, even Steve Burton has noticed all the speculation as to what might happen and how much Jason we can expect. So, he decided to set the record straight on The Daily Drama Podcast.
Burton called out a Facebook post in which a fan insisted that he had only signed a three-month contract just for Jason to die again by summer "false." Burton also took the opportunity to reveal the true length of his contract.

"Hey, guess what," Burton said with a smile. "It's a two-year contract -- and I'm not dying."
That means there is a whole lot more Jason in store as we learn more about where he has been the last two years. It also means that fan bases will be fighting over who he ends up with -- Carly, Sam, or Elizabeth. With two years ahead of us, there is a lot to mine with various pairings.
This is Burton's second big return over the last six years. He left GH in 2012 and took on the role of Dylan McAvoy on The Young and the Restless, but he returned to the soap role that made him famous in 2018. In 2021, he left the show when he declined to get vaccinated against COVID-19 after Disney/ABC imposed a vaccine mandate for all employees. The mandate was dropped in 2023, which facilitated his latest return.
Currently, Burton can be seen on both GH and Days of our Lives simultaneously. The actor completed taping scenes as DAYS' Harris Michaels in December but will likely air until June due to the show's advanced tape schedule.
