Liesl Obrecht has been missing from the Port Charles scene, but General Hospital star Kathleen Gati might have some answers.
Poor Scott Baldwin was crushed when his "Schnitzel" Liesl Obrecht broke things off with him and left Port Charles on an extended trip -- and many General Hospital fans were crushed because we didn't have Liesl to make us laugh and keep us entertained anymore.
In the summer of 2023, GH fans became worried when Gati tweeted how she loved living in Arizona, prompting many to ask if she had left the show. She assured fans that she hadn't, but she commutes to Los Angeles when work calls. She is a recurring player, so she doesn't always work regularly -- at least on GH.
"Yes, I'm commuting for work from AZ to CA as needed @GeneralHospital or elsewhere. But so loving living in the mountains of AZ!!" she wrote.

Now, Gati has teased fans with an explanation of what she's been up to while Liesl hasn't been on-screen, but she couldn't give away too much.
"Just a little hint to say I've been quiet because I am busy acting in a beautiful movie. Can't say more at the moment. Those NDAs are powerful! But I am sending my love to you all!"
The actress began playing the part of the villainous Dr. Obrecht in 2012. At the time, she was the ruthless ex of criminal sociopath Cesar Faison and was soon revealed to be Britt Westbourne's mother.
As Liesl grew more popular, Gati's role on the show expanded, and she softened a bit while keeping her manipulative edge. When she completes her new film, will she be back in the PC fold as Liesl? That could mean that a Liesl/Scott/Lucy triangle can be on its way now that Scott has moved on.
