A new character named Rory is reportedly headed to General Hospital, with the ABC soap casting actor Michael Blake Kruse in the newly created contact role.
It looks like a new Port Charles resident will be splashing onto the screen this spring! Actor Michael Blake Kruse has joined General Hospital in a newly created contract role.
A GH spokesperson confirms to Soap Central that Kruse has been cast as a rookie cop named "Rory." No last name was given, but the subsequent release of a publicity photo showed "Cabrera" on Rory's PCPD uniform.
Before the ABC soap confirmed Kruse's addition to the cast, Kruse caught wind of the casting rumors swirling around about him and, in response, tweeted, "Time will tell, everyone."

Meanwhile, over on Instagram, Kruse expressed his excitement about working on the first studio film of his career, sharing that his new role is "low on the totem pole," but he hopes his "work serves this project -- and makes the cut." A fan enthused in the comments section that there's a rumor going around about Kruse joining GH, and the actor commented that while the rumor is "very kind," he "cannot confirm or deny" anything related to GH.
Kruse was born on the United States Marine Corps base, Camp Pendleton, California, to parents who were both serving in the Marines Corps. He was initially interested in sports and participated competitively in baseball, football, wrestling, and track while attending BCLUW High School in Conrad, Iowa. He went on to play baseball at Central College of Pella, Iowa, where he also earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. Shortly after graduation, Kruse relocated to Los Angeles to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.
Some of Kruse's credits include the series Everything's Fine, Grey's Anatomy, and Criminal Minds, as well as films such as Dead in the Water, Christmas Harmony, and Double Play. He has also modeled in commercial and print campaigns for clients such as Nike, Amazon, Google, Apple, and Coca-Cola.
