Meet Nicholas Alexander Chavez, General Hospital's new Spencer Cassadine

General Hospital has recast the character of Spencer Cassadine, with soap opera newcomer Nicholas Alexander Chavez stepping into the role previously played by Nicolas Bechtel.

Port Charles residents are in for another face swap -- and this one might be a little sad for General Hospital fans. GH is bringing on a new actor to play the role of Spencer Cassadine. Nikolas' young son isn't so young anymore, with the new, SORAS'd version of the character being played by actor Nicholas Alexander Chavez.

GH fans first saw Chavez in the role late last week, when it was revealed that Spencer is the one who has been stalking his dad (Marcus Coloma) and Ava (Maura West), and recently forced the couple apart. Spencer was seen wearing a face mask, but that mask is about to drop...

Chavez is new to daytime, and in fact, it looks like he's new to acting, as well -- at least in a professional capacity. GH is the performer's only credit on IMDb. And speaking of new, the actor shared on Instagram that he recently bought a brand-new Corvette -- which has many of his GH costars super ecstatic. William Lipton (Cameron Webber) enthused, "Nooo wayyy that's awesome!" Eden McCoy (Josslyn Jacks) shared, "OH my God," while Sydney Mikayla (Trina Robinson) simply wrote, "WHAT?!" in response to Chavez' post about his flashy new car.

The role of GH's Spencer was previously played by Nicolas Bechtel, who joined the show in 2013. Bechtel left GH in 2016 to focus on his role as Lewie Diaz on Disney Channel's Stuck in the Middle, but he made sporadic appearances after that, the last one being in 2020.
