New General Hospital villain Cyrus Renault to be played by Falcon Crest alum Jeff Kober

Falcon Crest alum Jeff Kober will soon be making his General Hospital debut as Cyrus Renault, a baddie intent on taking down Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).

One heck of a villain is heading to General Hospital, and one heck of an actor has been chosen to play him. Port Charles is gearing up for the arrival of Cyrus Renault, and the powers that be have cast veteran actor Jeff Kober in the role.

Soap opera fans might recognize Kober from his mid-1980s role as Guy Stafford on Falcon Crest, but he has a long list of other major credits, including Sons of Anarchy, NCIS: Los Angeles, The Walking Dead, New Girl, and Shameless.

Daytime's new baddie was originally slated to make his debut at the end of January, but recent preemptions have pushed back his entrance. However, that doesn't mean it won't be any less grand when it happens.

As viewers know, Cyrus Renault is a Pentonville inmate who's set on challenging the authority of Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and making Sonny's life a living hell. He's already flexed his muscles by attacking Sonny in Brooklyn while simultaneously attacking Carly (Laura Wright) and Michael (Chad Duell) in Port Charles. And considering he'll soon be front and center on the GH canvas, that's likely just the beginning of the hell Cyrus is set to raise.

So what is Cyrus' connection to Sonny, and what kind of devious plans does he have in store for the residents of Port Charles? Let us know what you think in the Comments section below!
