Has Tamara Braun finished taping at GH?

Word on the street is that Tamara Braun has finished taping at General Hospital, and viewers will soon see her Port Charles alter ego, Kim Nero, exit the canvas. But the actress has a new project up her sleeve that also involves GH alum Ronnie Marmo (ex-Ronnie Dimestico).

Fans of Tamara Braun in the role of General Hospital's grieving mother Kim Nero will be disappointed by the latest casting rumor from the ABC soap opera: sources say the actress has been let go and will soon be exiting Port Charles.

Daytime Confidential reports that Braun, who has been playing the role of Kim since 2017, has already departed GH and that her character has not been recast. Rumors began swirling about her time on the soap coming to an end after both her on-screen son, Oscar (Garren Stitt), and her on-screen former lover Drew (Billy Miller) were written off the canvas.

As GH fans may recall, the role of Kim isn't Braun's only experience being in Port Charles. She previously played the role of Carly Corinthos from 2001 to 2005 and again in 2014. Her other soap credits include All My Children's Reese Williams (2008 to 2009), Days of our Lives' Taylor Walker (2011), and DAYS' Ava Vitali (2008, and again from 2015 to 2016).

Though Kim Nero's future is in the air, Braun's near future is as busy as ever. The daytime actress has joined the Los Angeles production of Death With Dignity... Comes In A Milkshake, which was written by Sam Henry Kass and is being directed by GH alum Ronnie Marmo (ex-Ronnie Dimestico).

The play follows a therapy session that erupts into full-blown mental anarchy when a "doctor's" office is suddenly commandeered by patients without appointments, insurance, homes, and an ability to survive in the real world. In the end, the therapist is forced to look at her own life skills and realizes she may not be as prepared for this line of work as she thought. Politics, social issues, and show biz are all topics that are attacked with blasphemy and rapid-fire retorts.

"Honestly, I had been thinking about doing a weekend of one-acts with soap actors," Braun told Soaps In Depth of joining the play. "I had been talking about that with a few people to gauge interest. Then, out of the blue, I got a text from Ronnie saying he was directing this new play by Sam Henry Kass and kept thinking of me for a role. I saw it as a gift."

A preview performance takes place on Thursday, October 17, at 8PM, followed by Friday and Saturday 8PM shows in October from the 18th through the 26th, and in November from the 8th through the 16th. Matinees will be featured on Sunday, October 27, and Sunday, November 10, at 3PM. Tickets can be purchased at Theatre 68 or by calling the box office at 1-323-960-5068.
