GH's Kimberly McCullough admits directing the ABC soap is "a lot of work"

Kimberly McCullough opens up about her new directing job and how much work it is to take the director's helm at General Hospital.

New mom Kimberly McCullough recently made a return as General Hospital's Robin Scorpio, but that's not the only job she's getting back to post-baby. The actress is happy to share that she's also back in the director's chair.

The actress announced via Instagram that she has signed on to direct an episode of the Netflix comedy series One Day at a Time.

"Can't wait for you to see it!" the actress captioned her photo of the script titled "Storage Wars."

Loosely based on the classic series of the same name that ran from 1975 to 1984, One Day at a Time follows Penelope Alvarez (Justina Machado) as she raises her two children with the help of her mother (Rita Moreno). The series premiered in January of this year and was quickly picked up for a second season.

McCullough is not only thrilled to direct an episode of the series but also to work with Oscar, Emmy, and Tony winner Moreno, known for her work in West Side Story, Nine to Five, The Electric Company, and Oz.

"Year. Made," McCullough wrote as a caption of her posing with the legendary actress.

In addition to One Day at a Time, McCullough has directed episodes of Pretty Little Liars, Shake It Up!, and K.C. Undercover. She has also created a series that takes a fictionalized look at soap operas in the 1980s called Hey Day.

However, fans might not see her in the director's chair at GH anytime soon. Though McCullough would take on the challenge, she admits it would be quite tough work for her at this time in her career.

"I would do it if I was asked," McCullough shares with Soaps In Depth. "But it's also really hard, what these guys have to do. They move so quickly. I think I could do it, because I actually shadowed one of the directors when I was still working there as an actor, so I know how to do it. It's just a lot of work!"
