General Hospital's Kimberly McCullough (ex-Robin Scorpio) opens up about her brush with a cult.
In her latest blog, General Hospital star Kimberly McCullough (Robin Scorpio Drake) opens up about quite an uncomfortable experience she had as a student at New York University: she ended up being the target of a cult.
In the post titled Cult Vibes, the actress shares a story about how she became the "prime target of a Christian cult" that attempted to cut her off from her family and friends. She was almost baptized within the group, but when important members made it clear she wouldn't be able to visit her family over the holiday break, McCullough listened to her gut feelings and cut ties with the group as soon as possible.
"I want to tell you that I ran, that I said, Y'all are crazy' or had some kind of comeback. But really, I was disappointed. I felt manipulated and sad that I was being used so this organization could say that Robin from General Hospital' went to their church," she writes, adding that after she walked away from the organization, members of the group resorted to stalking her, forcing the actress to file a campus police report. "It was scary. They would show up outside my classes, call me until I would pick up and leave me notes at my dorm room saying, We are praying away Satan for you and we want you to come back to Jesus and to us.' Eventually they stopped when I wrote them back and said I was going to make a documentary about them. Don't mess with a budding filmmaker!"
