The curtain is about to fall for General Hospital's Anthony Geary (Luke Spencer), and his recent Nightline appearance exposed his on-screen wives' true feelings about his upcoming exit.
What do you get when you cross two extremely popular General Hospital actresses with their on-screen husband on his way off the canvas? A whole lot of tears, as both Genie Francis (Laura Spencer) and Jane Elliot (Tracy Quartermaine) revealed during last night's special Anthony Geary (Luke Spencer) Nightline episode.
During the Nightline interview, Elliot revealed that her final onscreen moments with her longtime costar, who last appears in Port Charles on Monday, July 27, were some of the toughest scenes of her time on the show. "It was extremely emotional," she shares. "Everyone onstage was crying, and it was so emotional. So emotional."
Francis, who has the privilege of forever being known as the other half in the Luke and Laura phenomenon, shares in her costar's sentiments. "Luke and Laura together one more time, one last adventure," she says of the current storyline playing out on air. "So hard to say, makes me weep."

Geary may not have the same opinion or emotions regarding his exit from the soap, which he candidly opened up about in his final print interview, but he admits to having enjoyed the ABC ride nonetheless. "He was not created to be a heroic character... He was created to be an anti-hero and I have treasured the anti-side of the hero and pushed it for a long time," he explains of Luke. "He's not a white hat or a black hat: he's all shades of grey... And that has been the saving grace of playing him all these years."
