Rebecca exits GH, but is her absence permanent?

Rebecca 's Hayden slipped into a coma this week on General Hospital, leaving fans wondering if she's truly gone or if she'll wake up with an explosive secret just when the timing is right.

This week on General Hospital, Rebecca 's Hayden Barnes took a bullet to head and swiftly fell into a coma. But will the tragic accident keep both the character and her portrayer off the canvas, or might Sleeping Beauty wake up to reveal the doozy of a secret she acquired before getting shot?

As fans of the ABC soap know, Hayden is one of the few who know the secret that Jake (Billy Miller) is actually Jason Morgan, and if it wasn't for the firearm incident involving Nikolas (Tyler Christopher), she could have revealed the shocking bit of news, forever changing the lives of Jason and his wife, Sam (Kelly Monaco). Alas, she was shot before word slipped out, meaning the secret is safe -- for now!

, who joined GH in March, wasn't on contract during her run with the ABC soap, but her character proved popular with GH fans, meaning there's always a chance she could return. But would the Kentucky-born actress be keen to come back? "Yeah, totally!" she says in the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest. "I feel like there is more to learn about Hayden and I would love to figure out who she is, where she's coming from, what her whole backstory is."

For more from on her experience playing Hayden, check out this interview she did with Soap Central last month.
