Jean Passanante rejoins GH writing team

Jean Passanante has won four Daytime Emmys for her writing. Now she's headed back to the General Hospital writing team."

A little more than a week after revealing that she was no longer part of The Young and the Restless' writing team, Jean Passanante has landed back in Port Charles.

"Heading back to Port Charles! I hear there's one nutty hospital there," Passanante shared on Twitter.

Head writer Ron Carlivati replied to Passanante's message with the quip, "We already have an actor playing Sonny."

The move to Port Charles will reunite the two writers, who worked together previously at One Life to Live.

Passanante most recently served as co-head writer of Y&R, from December 2013 through late 2014. She has also toiled as head writer for All My Children, Another World, As the World Turns, and One Life to Live. She previous served on the General Hospital team in 2013. She's won Daytime Emmy awards as part of the writing team for both ATWT and OLTL.

It is unclear what position Passanante will fill on the GH writing team at this time. Passanante reports to work at GH on June 1.
