General Hospital has opted to recast the role of Agent Sloane. The news follows fan outcry over the dismissal of Robb Derringer, who originated the role in December 2014. An Emmy-nominated soap vet takes over starting in February.
There is good news and bad news for General Hospital viewers who were intrigued by the possible pairing of Anna Devane and Agent Sloane and then disappointed by the sudden firing of newcomer Robb Derringer. The good news is that Agent Sloane isn't leaving Port Charles. The bad news it that Derringer is still out; the role has been recast.
Daytime vet Grayson McCouch will take over the role. McCouch appeared on Another World as Morgan Winthrop from 1993 to 1996. He later assumed the role of Dusty Donovan on As the World Turns, earning a Daytime Emmy nomination as Outstanding Supporting Actor in 2006 during his seven-year run with the show.
Derringer taped his final scenes on December 19, and he will continue to air until the end of January. McCouch, meanwhile, will pop up on-screen in early February.
Meanwhile, Derringer has taken to social media to thank fans who rallied around his dismissal and asked that GH rehire him. You can read Derringer's comments here.
