Joe West, the son of two-time Emmy winner Maura West, may soon be following in his famous mom and dad's footsteps. West is currently appearing on stage in the world premiere of Sleepless In Settle: The Musical.
Talent runs deep in the West-DeFreitas home. Joe West, the son of General Hospital's Maura West (Ava Jerome) and As the World Turns vet Scott DeFreitas (Andy Dixon), is headlining Sleepless in Seattle: The Musical at the Pasadena Playhouse.
This marks the world premiere of the musical that is being staged by the Pasadena Playhouse, in association with David Shor Productions. It runs through June 23.
"I am extremely pleased and most fortunate to have such a talented cast of performers and designers to bring this beloved story to our stage," said Director and Playhouse Artistic Director Sheldon Epps. "Each and every one of them will bring their unique personal energy, artistry and musical skill to this production which I hope will have a whole new generation fall in love with Sam and Annie's romantic adventure."
Joe West earned rave reviews for his performance as Ralphie in A Christmas Story on Broadway. Producers were so impressed with West's video submission, he was invited to New York, where he auditioned for the creative team. A Christmas Story marked West's Broadway debut.
