Claire Coffee lands role in ABC pilot

When Claire Coffee exited her full-time role on General Hospital last month, some fans were upset that the show didn't try to develop more story for her on-screen alter ego. Now, those fans can find a silver lining in the star's dismissal. Coffee has landed a role in a fall pilot.

Don't feel too upset for actress Claire Coffee (ex-Nadine Crowell). Just days after she was downgraded to recurring status on General Hospital, the actress booked a role on a pilot for a new sitcom.

Coffee will play Claire Keating in the could-be series, This Might Hurt. While Coffee is not being dubbed one of the potential series' main characters, that could very well change if the pilot is picked up for full production by ABC.

This Might Hurt is being described as the comedic day-in-the-life of "a middle-aged pediatrician [who] finds himself to be out of step with his son, an internist, who wishes his father weren't so old-fashioned." It stars Tom Amandes and Josh Dean as the father-and-son physicians.

In January, Coffee announced that through a "mutual decision," she would be parting ways with General Hospital. The actress has been a member of the GH cast since October 2007.
