General Hospital fans have been wondering for quite some time now if Scotty Baldwin (Kin Shriner) has left the building permanently. Shriner’s been active on social media, even recently sharing how he wished older actors could return. In that regard, he’s wishing for Hollywood to improve their film quality, making them as entertaining as they used to be. The same can be said for General Hospital, which remains entertaining but could be made better with Shriner’s return as a lovable ambulance chaser.
Several General Hospital characters need more Scotty

Lucy (Lynn Herring) has been flailing about lately, trying to get along with everyone and keeping busy with Deception. But she’s much more interesting as a character when she has a significant other to play off of. She was doing well there with Martin (Michael E. Knight) until Tracy (Jane Elliot) managed to break them up. But the underlying reason why they didn’t make it as a couple was because she cheated on Martin with Scotty.

Scotty seemed to vanish into thin air a few months ago, allegedly going into hiding because he knew who tampered with Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) bipolar medication. But that whole storyline is water under the bridge now, and it’s unlikely that Sonny will try to seek retribution on the attorney. Lucy just sold Sidwell (Carlo Rota) Wyndemere Castle and has been providing him with information about all of the denizens of Port Charles. The two seem attracted to one another, and while Sidwell’s obviously just using her, Lucy might fall for him.
That’s one of the reasons Scotty needs to return: to rescue Lucy from her own bad mistakes. Sidwell’s a villain through and through, and she could end up in danger or worse just by getting close to him. Scotty has always been the voice of reason for Lucy despite the fact that he’s participated in more than one of her schemes.
While Tracy has been providing quite a bit of comedy in recent weeks, she’s been almost the only comic relief for a while. Martin’s been over the top lately as well, and while he and Tracy verbally spar, there are some sparks between them that could ignite into a full-blown relationship. But at the moment, Tracy’s irascibility is off the charts and she’s been on a rampage. She kept Willow’s kids hostage for Monica’s (the late Leslie Charleson) sake and has taken her anger out on Sasha (Sofia Mattsson).
Tracy could also use a dose of Scott. While they also verbally spar often, they used to be an item and perhaps that needs to be rekindled. Tracy needs to be calmed down, and although Scotty often irritates her, they’ve known each other for ages, and she might listen to him.
Whatever happens, Shriner needs to bring Scotty back to General Hospital asap!
