Jophielle Love, the talented young actress who has played General Hospital's Violet Finn since 2019, ended her run on the soap on October 21, 2024. The tear-filled scenes felt very real for the 10-year-old actress for a big reason.
Jophielle Love's General Hospital childhood
Love was just five years old when she made her GH debut as Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig) and Hamilton Finn's (Michael Easton) young daughter. She spent five of her most formative years as Violet and loved every minute of being part of the 61-year-old soap, especially all the fun she had on set.

"The thing is, I love being with everyone at work," Love told Soap Opera Digest. "I love making jokes, playing hide and seek with the people in the costume department. I love scaring my frenemy, Elisabeth from Costume, between takes. We play that ongoing game where we pretend to not like each other on set and give each other the evil look. It’s fun. I love when Frank [Valentini, executive producer] stops by the set during my scenes…I always try to make him proud. I will miss all my kid friends I got to play with, and I will miss saying hi to everyone in their dressing rooms through the [Intercom]."
Violet's tear-filled farewell
Over the last few months, Violet lost her grandfather, and her father checked himself into rehab. Now, Finn's stint in rehab is over, and he wants to start a new life with his daughter in Seattle. When Violet said her last goodbyes to Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) and Tracy (Jane Elliot) before Chase (Josh Swickard) accompanied her to Seattle, there wasn't a dry eye on the set or in the audience.
"I was very sad. It was fun to end it with a tea party, which is Violet’s favorite thing to do. But the long good-byes...so hard," Love said. "I think I was already crying before they called, 'Action!'...Violet says, 'It’s weird to feel so happy and so sad at the same time.' She was happy to be on her way to see her dad, and also incredibly sad to leave her new home and family at the Quartermaines. And I felt just like that on this last day. It was almost like crying while smiling… and then I realized I was the one going through that door!"
When one door closes, another one opens, meaning Love is moving on to other acting projects. She can be seen on the ABC primetime series Will Trent, where she's appeared as Cooper since 2023. However, she doesn't rule out a possible GH return.
"I don’t know how or when, but I hope it is not in too long from now," Love admitted. "It would be great if I could come back with my dad but as we saw, there is no way of knowing what the story will be. I could be back next year or in 10 years!"
