It’s been quite some time since General Hospital’s Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) lived at the Quartermaine mansion. In fact, the accident that took his memory, leaving him with permanent brain damage, happened in 1995, and he changed his last name to Morgan — the maiden name of his grandmother Lila Quartermaine — in 1996, and he hasn’t lived there since that debacle. Now that Jason’s agreed to move back to the mansion to be closer to his son Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn), Burton gave a fun behind-the-scenes peek at the home’s set.
They were the best
On Instagram, Burton shared a video and wrote: “Blessed to join @generalhospitalabc as a Q. Now that Jason is back in the house, it brings back a lot of memories. So much fun was had with Edward, Lila, Alan, Monica, Ned, Tracy, AJ, Emily, and others I’m sure I’m forgetting lol.” Then he posed the question to his fans: “Who’s your fave Q?”

The characters he mentioned were Edward Quartermaine, patriarch of the family, played by David Lewis, Les Tremayne, Jed Allen, and John Ingle. Lila, Edward’s wife, was the great Anna Lee. Alan Quartermaine, Jason’s Dad, was played by Stuart Damon, while his wife was Monica Quartermaine, played by Leslie Charleson. Ned Quartermaine was originally played by Kurt McKinney from 1988 to 1991, and then Wally Kurth took over the part in 1991 and still plays him to this day. Tracy, Jason’s aunt and Alan’s sister, is still being played with aplomb by Jane Elliot.
Jason’s brother, A.J. Quartermaine, was originally portrayed as an adult by Gerald Hopkins, then Sean Kanan from 1993 to 1997, with Billy Warlock stepping into the part until 2005, and then Kanan returned until A.J.’s death in 2014. And Emily, the adopted daughter of Alan and Monica, was originated by Amber Tamblyn from 1995 to 2001, and then Natalia Livingston took over the role until her demise in 2014.
@dmissasi responded, “I miss them all but I think my favorite times where when Lila would call Edward out on anything and he would submit to her. I think it showed true love because her opinion of him and his actions seemed to mean more to him than his selfish desires.”
Another fan, @ladyky63, wrote, “I miss Emily. She was one of my favorite Q’s.” @thewildflower1909_90s replied with, “I loved the 90s! But I love & still do love Tracy's laugh!!! She has the best laugh! And when Lucy used to call Lila "mother Quartermaine! 😂 Lila was so beautiful! Another favorite! And Alan Q was the funniest ghost!! Rest in peace Stuart Damon, 🙏 ❤️🕊🎄✨️.”
The fan was referring to the storyline in which, after Alan died, he appeared as a ghost that only Tracy could see and annoyed her.
Many fans counted Edward, Lila, and Tracy as their faves, with several storylines being fondly remembered, including the Quartermaines always having to settle for pizza on Thanksgiving and the time when Tracy denied her father his heart medication when he had a heart attack, only to learn that he was pretending so he could ensnare her in his trap.
In Burton’s video, he took his camera around the Quartermaine mansion set and said, “Hey. On a little break here in the Quartermaine foyer.” Then he panned across the Q family photos on display with many of the characters he mentioned and ended saying, “The best!”
