General Hospital’s September 27 episode was full of explosive action as WSB drones laid siege to Sidwell’s (Carlo Rota) camp, saving the lives of Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), who were about to be executed. The aerial attack unleashed missiles that killed many of the villain’s anonymous henchmen and destroyed most of the camp. Burton shared some footage from the making of this exciting sequence, thrilling the fans.
They made it rain fire
On Instagram, General Hospital’s Burton shared a video and captioned it:
Always a BLAST! So much fun doing this location on our lot! Thanks to special F/X, stunts, and the crew for making this happen! Thanks for watching @generalhospitalabc

Burton introduced the video, saying,
Location shoot. On the lot. Pretty cool. A lot going on here. Hope you guys enjoy it!
The video depicted the outdoor setting that was designed to look like Sidwell’s camp. Several panning shots showed the crew fervently working hard to not only set things up, but also ensure safety. A signpost indicated various places on the ABC lot, with arrows showing the direction of a commissary, commons, rehearsal hall, several stages, and Los Feliz Tower, which could be a high rise in Los Angeles, or some place named after it.
Rota can be seen with other actors and crew as they prepared to shoot. Beforehand, the pyrotechnics team launched a test explosion, which was a blast of fire coming from a cone-shaped device. Several stationary, controlled fires were strategically placed around the set to simulate the devestation from the drone attack which set fire to nearly everything. One of the actors was also hilariously labeled “Dead Guy” while lying on the ground in the post-explosion rubble.
The video ended with a clip from the show where Jack Brennan (Charles Mesure) counts down the drone attack, with Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) looking on. When he gets to “one,” we see the resulting footage of the attack as a kneeling Anna and Jason hear the drones descending, and explosions wreak havoc everywhere.
Burton closed the video with:
Awesome. We’re having so much fun. Thank you guys for watching. We appreciate it so much.
The fans loved the peek behind the curtain
The fans were in awe of the amazing effects work. @vintageandvelvetclothing wrote:
Loving the location shoots! So glad you're back😁😍and now to have JJ back…you two are going to have some great storylines!
Of course, the JJ she was referring to was Jonathan Jackson, who recently returned to the role of Lucky Spencer and was the target of Jason and Anna’s rescue operation. It will definitely be interesting to see how old friends Lucky and Jason interact further, and what other adventures they might find themselves in.
@titiletz truly enjoyed Burton’s post and responded:
Love how you show the behind the scenes. Keep 🥰that up!
And @lmp_photography spoke for most of the followers by writing:
