Sawandi Wilson has been extremely busy since he started playing Isaiah on General Hospital in August 2024. The Star Trek: Discovery alum got married to his longtime lady love, as well as appearing in the Spanish-language thriller, El Heredero. The actor took some time out of his busy day to share a sneak peek behind the scenes at his journey to the GH studio every day.
Nearly every step of the way was chronicled

On Instagram, Wilson wrote, “🏥🩻BTS at General Hospital. Not a day goes by where I don’t say, ‘I am grateful to be a working actor.Thank you God.’ So much love to GH friends and fam. #sawandi #sawandiwilson #GH #isaiahgannon.”
In the video, which was set to the easy listening song Samui Sunrise by an artist known only as Saib, Wilson started off showing a cup of coffee being created by a coffee maker, and he remarked, “Two morning basics I cannot go without: Coffee and Durag,” both of which were written on the overlaid text. He continued, “Let's go.” A ‘durag,’ aka a ‘do-rag,’ is a piece of cloth worn like a hat to protect hair from getting damaged.
He continued, “Next up, we hit the set.” As he entered the studio building, his voice got fainter as the music grew louder, but it appeared he said, “Good Morning” to a security guard named Emma, who greets him every morning.
“Next up, grab the call sheet,” he said, which is a schedule detailing where scenes will be shot, what time the actors need to be there, and the day’s shooting schedule. He grabbed his papers and continued.
“After that, head to wardrobe,” he narrated. We could see a rack of clothes in protective plastic coverings, with the name Isaiah next to Lucas, who is played by Van Hansis. He pulled an outfit from his character's section and entered his dressing room. As he gave the peace sign to his reflection in a mirror, the scene creatively dissolved to him putting on his doctor’s jacket while walking down the hallway.
He went as far as he was allowed

“Now, I go to hair and makeup,” he continued, preparing his credentials, which were clipped to the jacket. He made his way to his destination, explaining, “We gotta say ‘good morning’ to Carol,” who is clearly one of the show’s hair stylists. He held a hand up to her with “HMU” written on the screen, meaning “hit me up,” or he wanted a high-five. “Good morning, Carol. What’s good?” he asked. She laughed and finally returned his high-five.
Wilson then continued, explaining, “All right. We gotta head to the main stage.” However, when he got to a particular door, he noted, “Because I signed an NDA, this is about as far as we go. Tune in next time.” What that means is he signed a ‘Non-Disclosure Agreement’ in which he’s not allowed to share much more behind the scenes to avoid inadvertently giving away spoilers.
