Since Rick Hearst has been back on General Hospital, he's shared scenes with a multitude of former co-stars, including Rebecca Herbst, Nancy Lee Grahn, and on-screen brother Maurice Benard.

A brotherly reunion with Maurice Benard

When Hearst and Benard worked together for the first time in nearly a decade, they had already run into each other at the studio and shared a few warm moments, catching up.

One of the first things Benard asked Hearst was how long he planned to stick around during this latest GH stint. That's something fans have also been wondering. While Hearst didn't tell Benard what the show had planned for him, he did reveal his wish.

"We saw each other a few days prior [to getting the script for their first scenes together]," Hearst explained to Soap Opera Digest. "He said to me, ‘How long are you here for?' And I said, ‘I have no idea, Mo. For as long as they’ll have me! Until they kick me out!'"

Hearst makes his home on the East Coast in New Jersey, where he has a second career as a real estate agent, but apparently, he doesn't mind flying out to Los Angeles to bring Ric Lansing to life.

Ric's future on General Hospital

During the few weeks that Ric has been making the rounds in Port Charles, visiting with ex-wives and taking on controversial clients, the character has proven to be as messy as ever. Ric causes chaos wherever he goes. He has already turned Alexis in to the police and agreed to represent serial killer Heather Webber.

The long-awaited scenes where Ric finally came face-to-face with his big half-brother, Sonny, reminded fans just how much animosity remains between the siblings. Hearst revealed that both he and Benard relished the moments in Ava's gallery where all of Sonny and Ric's old bad blood bubbled to the surface.

"I literally wanted to make sure that it was something where, the second we locked eyes with one another, we’re inside each other [psychologically]," Hearst said. "It’s very symbiotic that way. We did the first two scenes and they were like, 'Wow, those were great,' and Mo said, ‘That’s what happens when he and I do this, when we work together!'"

Will we see more Ric and Sonny scenes in the future? Perhaps if Sonny is finally arrested for the murder of John Cates, Ric can surprise everyone and become Sonny's dedicated attorney.
