Port Charles Pairs: Your 2025 General Hospital Romance Preview

Love is in the air as the new year begins on General Hospital. From potential pairs and established couples to renewed romance and emotional danger, here's what you can expect to see on GH as 2025 begins.

General Hospital goes back to the past for Elizabeth's future

After nearly three years of trying to force Elizabeth and Finn to work, Elizabeth was finally set free in 2024 and suddenly found herself with three ex-lovers back on the Port Charles scene. While Ric and Jason have been on the periphery, Lucky is now right there in the center of Liz's life again.

"Lucky and Elizabeth’s romance is foundational to our vision of General Hospital," Head Writers Elizabeth Korte and Chris Van Etten told TV Insider. "But they’ve been apart a long time. She may not be able to trust him with her heart, but she will trust him with her life. And she’ll have good reason to as they team up to uncover the truth about Sam’s death. Sparks will fly, but the closer they get to Cyrus, the closer he gets to them."

Of course, Ric has placed himself in the middle of the story of the hospital heart attack as Elizabeth's lawyer. That means Lucky doesn't have as clear a path as he thinks.

Moments of truth for Chase and Brook Lynn

As Chase and Brook Lynn continue trying to have a baby, heartache sets in. Korte and Van Etten refer to what happens as a "medical setback," but things get much more complicated than that, with their marriage being put to the test by "a secret she’s keeping — and a secret being kept from her, about her."

That secret is about to come out in a big way, with profound consequences for Brook Lynn, Chase, and everyone around them.

"But only one person can keep a secret, and even Cerullos have lapses," the writers said. "The coming revelations will have profound impacts on Brook Lynn and Chase’s marriage, and on the Quartermaine, Cerullo, Falconeri, and Corinthos families."

Is someone about to welcome a bouncing 21-year-old violin-playing boy to the family?

Can Carly tame a rogue agent?

Jack Brennan has been thrown for a loop. His dastardly deeds are now weighing on his conscience because he'd like to be as good a person as Carly seems to think he is, but being good is not second nature to Jack. Can Carly change that?

"Brennan is running a long-term operation, one that will have a life-changing impact on a number of residents," Korte and Van Etten told TV Insider. "But his success is imperiled by something a seasoned cynic could never have anticipated — genuine romantic feeling. Carly could be his undoing."

Another chapter for 'Vanna'?

It still makes little sense that GH ended a popular pair like Valentin and Anna after taking them years to get together, but that's just what happened in 2024. Will Valentin's reappearance change things in 2025? Anna is there to help him and find out.

"Past is prologue when Valentin finds himself in deep trouble," the writers previewed. "Can Anna pull him out, and make up for her mistakes? She can do one or the other, but maybe not both."

A new beginning for Trina

Kai is going to have a lot more time on his hands now that football season is over, which means more time to spend with Trina. They may even have an adventure on their hands.

"As 2025 progresses, they’ll be confronted by burgeoning feelings, crises, intrigue, and adventure," the writers teased. "A conflict elsewhere on the canvas will have Kai watching his back, but maybe by then, Trina will be watching it for him."

Sounds like a whole lot of action, angst, and romance is in store as the new year gets started on GH.
