Police ask for help in General Hospital star's murder case

More details have emerged in the murder of General Hospital star Johnny Wactor. On Sunday, August 4, the Los Angeles Police Department released images and descriptions of the suspects in the case in the hopes of tracking them down.

According to ABC7 in L.A., the police publicized surveillance images taken during the tragic killing of the 37-year-old actor who played Brando Corbin from 2020 to 2022. Authorities are asking for the public's help in finding the suspects.

The man accused of pulling the trigger was described as having a tattoo above his left eye as well as on his right cheek. The three suspects fled the scene in a stolen black Infiniti Q50 sedan.

"I'm hoping the community is sick enough that somebody will step up and help," Wactor's mother, Scarlett, told ABC7.

Wactor's tragic last moments

Wactor was shot and killed in the wee hours of the morning on May 25 after leaving a bartending shift in downtown Los Angeles. He and a co-worker spotted several men trying to steal Wactor's catalytic converter. When the actor approached the men, one of them shot him, and he fell backward onto his colleague, Anita Joy, who described the terrifying moment on her Instagram.

"Johnny kept his cool as he always did, simply stating that it was his car and for them to leave. Hands open to his sides in peace," Joy wrote. "Johnny was between me and the man who shot him - as I heard the shot ring into the night, he forcefully tumbled back into my arms and as I grabbed for him, I shouted, 'Hunny you ok?!' And he only responded, 'Nope! Shot!' "

In June, Wactor's family organized a march in the streets of Los Angeles in his honor calling for "Justice for Johnny."

"Back home, we're all hurting obviously," Wactor's brother Grant said at the time. "We're doing everything we can to try to stay busy to try to keep this in the forefront, so thank you all for being here and helping us keep this out there so we can continue to press this issue. The main thing is just, it was a senseless act of violence. It was something that none of us expected. He was 37 years old. He would be 38 in August, and it hurts."

If you have any information about the suspects, you can contact LAPD detectives at 213-996-4143 and 213-996-4173.
