General Hospital star Kirsten Storms's coffee crisis

General Hospital's Maxie Jones is prone to calamities in her life, but she hasn't had one quite as amusing as actress Kirsten Storms, whose latest mishap ended with a lot of black right under her eye.

Storms took to Instagram with a photo of her looking like she'd been in a fight, and she explained what had happened.

"One of those 'funny story, but not funny when I need coffee' moments…I’ve opened several canisters of @illy_coffee tins and never have the grounds exploded out of that cute metal container," Storms wrote. "There is a first time for everything. I can say with certainty that I prefer my coffee brewed in hot water (or over ice)…straight from the container doesn’t taste that good. (*In their defense, there is a warning on the lid. It’s written in several languages.*)"

The actress' co-stars were shocked by what they saw, including Finola Hughes (Anna Devane), who commented, "I thought it was a GH storyline!! I’m thinking 'Who would dare to give Maxie a black eye?'"

Jen Lilley, who played Maxie when she filled in for Storms in 2011 before joining the Days of our Lives cast as Theresa, also chimed in. "I couldn’t love this post more. You’re hilarious and adorable. Glad you’re okay!" she wrote.

GH co-star Marc Anthony Samuel (Felix Dubois) wrote: "Damn, that coffee is strong. Maybe too strong."

Kirsten Storms's kitchen adventures

This mishap is a far cry from all the goodness that has been brewing in Storms's kitchen lately. She recently shared that she moved and has a brand-new kitchen that she can't get enough of. Storms has been cooking up a storm for herself and her daughter, Harper, who she shares with her ex-husband, Brandon Barash.

"I just moved and it’s become kinda clear that I love my new kitchen," Storms admitted in an Instagram post. "I can’t stop making southern food for Harps. She’s digging it and the smells remind me of my childhood. I’m getting pretty good at homemade chicken pot pie. This version was definitely the best so far. For dessert (which I only ever make when I have Harper, because..well, she’s 10) I made baked peaches with pecan ice cream and homemade whipped cream ( <— don’t sleep on this guys. It’s incredible and also really good on coffee in the morning."

Hopefully, Storms doesn't have any more coffee accidents, so she can enjoy her whipped cream and cup of joe together without stress.
