How General Hospital's Cyrus Renault really felt about Dex Heller

Perhaps General Hospital's now-dead Cyrus really meant it when he told Elizabeth he held no malice toward Dex Heller when he literally stabbed him in the back in December. After all, a few behind-the-scenes moments show just how much Cyrus loved Dex.

When Cyrus plunged that knife into Dex's back in December, it didn't look like a good time, but for the actors it apparently was. GH recently shared a couple of backstage snaps of Jeff Kober and Evan Hofer the day they filmed Cyrus stabbing Dex.

"Our sources at the WSB discovered a few more photos of Dex's final encounter with Cyrus Renault which paint a slightly different version of events between the two men," the official GH account posted to Instagram.

In the photos, Kober and Hofer are all smiles as they pose together. Kober is even holding a sticker that reads, "I love Dex." Since Cyrus claims all his recent murders came from love, that makes sense in a strange sort of way.

Cyrus thought he was taking care of his Dex problem when he stabbed the rookie police officer, but Dex lived and was given a positive prognosis. That meant Cyrus had to take things a step further, so he injected Digitalis into Dex's IV, knowing it could give the young man a fatal heart attack. He just had to hope that nobody would suspect foul play.

Cyrus finally explained his twisted reasoning to Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) last week. He wanted to release alleged terminally ill patients from their suffering, but Sam (Kelly Monaco) and Dex interfered with his mission, so they had to die. Cyrus punished Sam for donating a piece of her liver to Lulu because it would prolong Lulu's suffering. Dex was getting close to finding out Cyrus killed Sam, so he had to kill Dex.

After Josslyn (Eden McCoy) called Cyrus a monster for killing Sam and her beloved Dex, Cyrus tried to kill her too because she was interfering with his mission. So, Josslyn ended Cyrus before he could end her. Dex's death has now been avenged, but at least the actors involved in this tragic story had a good time bringing it to life.
