In Ali's video, Ali introduces a clip from the film, saying, "Hi everyone, my name is Tabyana Ali," she began. "I play Honor in Empire Waist and I can't wait to see her character come to life on September 27."
In the clip Ali shared, her character is in the school cafeteria, embarrassed that her mother packed her full-fat yogurt for lunch. "I'll find another mother," Honor tells her critical classmate.
Empire Waist delivers an important message
According to IMDb, Empire Waist tells the tale of a "group of teens learning to love their bodies through inclusive fashion design and friendship." It also stars Mia Kaplan, Rainn Wilson, and Missi Pyle.
"Making Empire Waist was such a deeply healing experience for me," Ayoub said in a statement, according to Deadline. "Knowing that audiences across North America and around the world will be learning that they are worthy and loved exactly as they are goes beyond my wildest dreams. I’m so grateful to the team at Blue Fox Entertainment for championing our film and its message."
Deadline also reports that the production team behind Empire Waist will also be releasing "The Empire Waist Confidence Curriculum" in conjunction with Gillette Venus. The curriculum is meant to help process feelings about body image and positivity.
Tabyana Ali's General Hospital life
Ali became a quick fan favorite in 2022 when she took over the role of GH's Trina from Sydney Mikayla. Her pairing with Nicholas Alexander Chavez's Spencer Cassadine drew fans in, but Chavez left the soap earlier this year. The actor debuted in Ryan Murphy's Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story on September 19 and stars in Murphy's Grotesquerie, premiering on FX on September 25.
Meanwhile, Ali is still bringing Trina to life as she tries to move on with her life, despite her grief over losing Spencer.
