Always one to impart words of wisdom to his fans, General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) continues his attempt to make peoples’ lives better. He recently shared one among many posts on Instagram, and this one had fans talking quite a bit about what his point was and how his teachings have impacted their lives.
Truer words were never spoken
On Instagram, General Hospital’s Steve Burton wrote, “Self-belief and mental toughness. Most of us definitely keep our word to other people before we keep our word to ourselves. Start keeping your word to you and watch what happens. I’ve seen people completely change their lives…literally. Going from zero self-belief to a new person. So inspiring. The first tip I have is to pick a wakeup time and stick to it. No matter what. These small wins matter. Over time you can build a foundation that will change everything. This is what I teach in my 8 week program. Link in bio.”

He then brought his point home with, “Believe in yourself and all that you are. Know that there is something inside you that is greater than any obstacle.” Similar to what his former co-star Sean Kanan — who played Jason’s brother A.J. Quartermaine and is now Deacon on The Bold and the Beautiful — has preached in his Way of the Cobra book series, Burton’s words are simple fixes that help people achieve the most out of life.
Co-star Finola Hughes (Anna Devane) replied, “Agreed 👍🏻.” @patsygallardo gleaned a lot from his post, responding, “Thanks, Steve December is always a little harder for me. Good 👍 pep talk.” @ambiguouslifecoach kept their response simple by just posting, “🔥🔥🔥.” Burton was definitely on fire with his words as one fan reiterated, “Always keep your word to yourself!❤️🙌.”
In the video, Burton stated, “Yo! Just got a good workout in and I did not feel like it. That's how you build mental toughness: do what you have to do even when you don't want to. How to build self-belief: Keep your word to yourself. Do what you're going to say, even when you don't feel like it! Let's go!”
@missbark7 felt his words to be very empowering with the response, “You have no idea how much I need to hear this on a regular basis. Met you in New Brunswick a couple [of] weeks ago for the holiday show and had a blast. Thanks for being such a positive influence!”
And @shug_2.0 encapsulated all of the fans’ thoughts with, “You always pop up at the right time, saying the right stuff!!! NEEDED this today 🙌🧠💪.”
