General Hospital will be chock full of returns in the month of August, with Rick Hearst being the latest actor who's making his way back to the Port Charles scene. Bryan Craig is set to make a one-day appearance as the ghost of Morgan Corinthos, and Jonathan Jackson is returning as Lucky Spencer on a long-term basis.
General Hospital's Ric returns for Molly
The stakes just got higher for Ric, who will be back in Port Charles to support his daughter, Molly. Kristina, who has been a surrogate for her sister, carrying a child for Molly and T.J., fell out Ava's window into the Metro Court pool right below, leaving the baby's fate up in the air.
Hearst is thrilled to be back on the GH set and is ready to make Ric his own again, taking to social media to chronicle his return. Both Hearst and the official GH Instagram account recently shared a snap of him outside the soap's studio, pointing to the General Hospital sign in the background.
"Ric Lansing is back on the canvas!" the caption read. "Raise your hand if you’re excited to see what Rick Hearst has in store for Port Charles."
Co-star Kin Shriner (Scott Baldwin) commented, saying, "Yes, we talked of old times great to see him again!"
As lawyers, Ric and Shriner's Scott faced off in court several times, including in 2015 when Ric represented Sonny in his custody case with Ava. Scott was Ava's lawyer then as Sonny and Ava battled over custody of their daughter, Avery. Now, Ava and Sonny are fighting over the little girl again. Perhaps Ric and Scott will face off in the same battle in 2024.
Hearst posted another behind-the-scenes picture, this time in Ric's attorney attire, sporting a shock of white hair like in the previous snap.
"Slid into this guy’s skin again, pretty easily. Of course, the suit helps," Hearst wrote. He followed it with the hashtag "#daddysback," signaling that Ric would be right there by Molly's side through her troubles.
The last time we saw Ric and Molly together, she was still a high school student. Now, she is a grown woman and a lawyer just like him. Will Molly and Ric put their courtroom skills to work together? Time will tell.
