Carly (Laura Wright) gives some thought to Felicia's (Kristina Wagner) request. Maybe if Sonny (Maurice Benard) lost those piers, his whole life could change for the better, so she calls him over to talk. As they discuss the esplanade project and Laura's (Genie Francis) referendum, Sonny explains what has been happening between him and Laura. He can't even go to Rocco's (Finn Carr) debate because of the press.

Carly gives Sonny some food for thought when she tells him that the best thing he can do for his old pal Laura is to stay away from her. What Carly doesn't expect is for Sonny to tell her more news. He has a heart condition and needs surgery. A health issue with her ex-husband when she is trying to move on is a plot twist Carly never expected.

Sasha's found out

Fresh after being called a true Quartermaine by Olivia (Lisa LoCicero), Jason (Steve Burton) calls out Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) for accepting money from Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota).

Sasha is forced to explain herself to Jason, namely why she took money from a dangerous criminal and not him, another dangerous criminal. Will Jason reason that he is a good criminal and Sidwell is a bad one? At least Jason is giving Sasha a baby daddy when she needs one.

Meanwhile, Sidwell the criminal is trying to get Jordan (Tanisha Harper) to join his criminal organization, but that was the plan all along. Is Sidwell about to present Jordan with a curveball? She thought he needed a personal lobbyist, but he might need something else entirely. How low is Jordan willing to go to bring this man down? Will she be going to Curtis (Donnell Turner) for help sooner than she thought?

The Deception ladies are also thrown a curveball when Maxie (Kirsten Storms) and Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) seem to realize there is something off about their zincite shipment. Maxie thought they had an iron-clad deal, but is Sidwell double-crossing them already? Maxie and Brook Lynn were hesitant to do business with Sidwell because they feared something like this could happen.
