Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) is beside himself, wondering how he can keep the family he and Sam created. She was the rock and he can't stand the idea of separating the children. Rocco (Finn Carr), Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), and Scout (Cosette Abinante) think of each other as siblings, which was the way he and Sam wanted it.
Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) and Lucky (Jonathan Jackson) sit with one another during this sad day, while Carly (Laura Wright) is there to offer Jason support. He has to be strong for Danny, as Drew (Cameron Mathison) swallows his pride, be there for Scout, and not throw Danny's dad in jail.
Impassioned eulogies leave everyone in tears, but there is one family member who is not there.
Lucas and Ava bond
Lucas (Van Hansis) had planned to attend his sister's funeral, but Danny's reaction to seeing him there drove Lucas away. Maxie (Kirsten Storms) had assured him that Sam's death wasn't his fault, but Danny accused Lucas of being responsible for his mom dying the second he spotted him.
Lucas ends up at the cemetery, where he runs into his Aunt Ava (Maura West). They haven't seen one another since Lucas returned to Port Charles. Ava tries to get Lucas to open up. After their talk, Lucas and Ava find some common ground.
A new Lulu is here
While Port Charles says goodbye to Sam, it looks like it's finally time to say hello to Lulu (Alexa Havins). After a successful liver transplant, Lulu is off a ventilator and now lives at Turning Wood. Laura (Genie Francis) begged her daughter to open her eyes last week. She didn't want Sam's death to be in vain.
Little does Laura know that after four years, her words might have broken through to her daughter. While Dante and Lulu's other loved ones are in church for Sam's funeral, Lulu does as her mother wants. She opens her eyes for the first time since 2020. Sam's death was not in vain after all, but what kind of life awaits Lulu now?
