General Hospital's William Lipton takes on a new role

General Hospital fans were thrilled to see William Lipton bring Cameron Webber home for Christmas, but soon they will be able to see him in a brand-new project, the details of which are so far under wraps. However, Lipton was able to drop a few hints.

Lipton recently took to Instagram to share some snaps from his new flick, as well as praise his director pal.

"I had the incredible privilege of working on my dear friend’s directorial debut!!!," Lipton wrote. "So immensely grateful to have had this experience with such talented individuals in front and behind the camera. Special shoutout to @lighthousefilms for being so awesome. So proud of u li and can’t wait for everyone to see this beautiful project."

In the pics Lipton shared, it's clear that the film will have some beach scenes, as well as a library scene, but Lipton is keeping mum about what else we might see when the movie hits screens.

The actor's former GH co-star and love interest, Eden McCoy (Josslyn Jacks), is happy for her old friend, replying: "So wonderful!"

Life after General Hospital for William Lipton

Lipton has been a busy actor since leaving his regular gig in the soap world behind. In February of 2024, news broke that Lipton would star in a new series called The Runarounds, which is set to debut on Amazon Prime this year.

The Runarounds is based on the fictional adventures of Lipton's real-life band that made its TV debut on Outer Banks in 2021.

Lipton left GH in 2023 to focus more on his college education. After a breakup with Josslyn, Cameron also left for college, leaving Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) and his brothers behind.

Cam returned twice in 2024. In February, he made his way back to Port Charles to attend Spencer Cassadine's (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) funeral, as Spencer and Cam were best friends. Cam returned again last month for Christmas, surprising both his mother and Josslyn when he introduced them to his new girlfriend. According to a recently returned Emma Drake (Braedyn Bruner), she and Cam became friends again when he started attending college in California. She even introduced him to the new lady in his life.

With Lipton's college life and various entertainment projects, fans hope he will find time to visit his old soap again.
