General Hospital's Tajh Bellow now on recurring status as TJ Ashford

Tajh Bellow, who began playing General Hospital's TJ Ashford in 2018, is no longer on contract status with the soap.

Bellow, who broke fans' hearts last year as TJ grieved the death of his stillborn daughter, was the third actor to play the part of Jordan Ashford's only son. Krys Meyer originated the role in 2012, with Tequan Richmond taking over soon after and seeing TJ through his high school and early college years.

Bellow began playing the part in time for TJ to watch Jordan (then played by Briana Lane) marry Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner). TJ eventually became an accomplished young doctor who hasn't been seen in the hospital halls since late last year. On the February 21 episode, Bellow was listed under the recurring players when the credits rolled.

On February 18, Bellow took to Instagram to share a positive and uplifting message about his time at GH without explicitly addressing his status with the soap. However, he did say he would talk about it in the near future.

"WHAT A YEAR WE HAD!!!!" he wrote. " Playing Dr. TJ Ashford has been a groundbreaking experience for my career. Pouring into TJ as he poured into me has been illuminating in many regards...Grieving such immense loss took everything in me and I’m blessed that my work resonated with you all. I know a lot of my fans are wondering what’s next for TJ, but before I speak to that I wanted to celebrate all that we’ve accomplished together. I’m excited for this years EMMY AWARDS!"

Currently, TJ is estranged from longtime partner Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos). After the death of their daughter, Irene, Molly and TJ seemed to lose their connection and ultimately decided to split toward the end of 2024.

While TJ still has plenty of family featured regularly, including Jordan (Tanisha Harper), Curtis, Trina (Tabyana Ali), and Stella (Vernee Watson), the character seems to be MIA as of late. We don't even see him treating patients anymore, but recurring status does not necessarily mean that TJ Ashford is gone for good. He could pop up again any day with a brand-new story. Time will tell...
