General Hospital star Steve Burton started 2025 off right by becoming engaged to girlfriend Michelle Lundstrum.

Burton took to Instagram on January 4 to share the good news of his engagement, sharing that he proposed on January 3.

"Engaged 1/3/25," Burton wrote, followed by a Bible quote. "Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Burton also included several photos of himself and Lundstrum accompanied by the song Glory of Love by Peter Cetera. The actor's GH co-stars were quick to offer excited well wishes.

"Oh Steve!!!! Congratulations!" wrote Finola Hughes (Anna Devane, GH). "I wish you both all the happiness in the future, you are a wonderful couple! Congratulations Michelle!"

Burton's podcast co-host Bradford Anderson (Damian Spinelli, GH) simply wrote, "AMAZING!" while Eden McCoy (Josslyn Jacks, GH) chimed in with, "Oh my God!!!" Asher Antonyzyn (Danny Morgan, GH) commented with, "Amazing! Congrats. So excited for you."

Some former co-stars from other soaps also shared their excitement, including Kristian Alfonso (Hope Brady, Days of our Lives), Galen Gering (Rafe Hernandez, Days of our Lives), Lauralee Bell (Christine Williams, The Young and the Restless), and Michelle Stafford (Phyllis Summers, The Young and the Restless).

Burton revealed his romance with Lundstrum, a former contestant on the Netflix series BBQ Showdown, in May and attended the Daytime Emmys together last June. Burton was previously married to Sheree Gustin from 1999-2023. They share three children: Jack, Makena, and Brooklyn.

On-screen, Burton's Jason hasn't had much of a romantic life at all since returning to Port Charles last March. While many fans wanted Jason back with either Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) or Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst), Sam has since died, and the show seems to be heading in another direction with Elizabeth. He did kiss Anna during a life-or-death situation, but both characters promised to put that kiss in the past.

GH has hinted toward a relationship developing between Jason and Sasha Corbin (Sofia Mattsson), but time will tell if that romance actually gets off the ground.
