General Hospital's Rick Hearst announces special fan event with his mom

Soap opera viewers are always delighted when they get to meet the stars at a fan event. With Ric (Rick Hearst) and Ava’s (Maura West) plot to blackmail Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) underway, the fans certainly have tons of questions. Not only is Hearst going to be appearing at a fan meeting, but he’s got something special with his mother in the works that his followers are going to love.

Thyme to cook

Hearst shared a post with Coastal Entertainment on Instagram, with the caption, “Sunday, May 4th!!!! Join @rickhearst and his Mom live on #zoom for a look inside the kitchen and some amazing recipes! 🍝🍝🍝. Don’t miss a very special pre-Mother’s Day event! 💕💕💕💕. Rick’s a great cook and so is his Mom! They’re looking forward to connecting with you next Sunday! 🥰🥰🥰.”

Along with that was a video in which he went into detail about the upcoming event. He greeted the audience and mentioned that many fan meetups are done over Zoom. “I have one coming up actually, with my mom,” he remarked, adding that many people have grown up with recipes and traditions passed around the family, and introduced his mother, who was seated in the kitchen with him.

Mom’s the star

“So we're going to be doing it from live from Nonna's kitchen,” he explained, continuing, “the actual kitchen where Nonna cooks.” He added that not only with there be many great recipes involved, but Mom will “probably yell at me a few thousand times, which is always entertaining. And so we're looking forward to seeing you guys there.”

He couldn’t quite recall the actual date of the event and directed the fans to Coastal’s site, where they could search his name. They thought it was around Mother’s Day, but it turned out to be on May 4, a week before the beloved holiday. Hearst then stated that his Mom would be the star, and added, “I'm just window dressing. That's the talent. I'm the window dressing.”

The actor also hilariously mentioned that, “We may be watching Law and Order: SVU during the whole thing. This is one of the things Mom likes to do when she cooks. That and ID Discovery,” which is a cable channel dedicated to true crime. To that, Hearst reacted, “Little too intense for me. Yeah, yeah, not so much.” He finished with the hilariously self-deprecating remark, “That was probably the lousiest promo there ever was, but hopefully you were entertained. We'll see you soon.”

The fans not only praised Hearst for being back on GH, but were happy for his event, with @slymank2 commenting, “😂😂😂😍😍😍 you are the absolute best and so is your amazing mom.
