If you’ve ever wondered if there’s an easy way to shuck corn, then look no further than General Hospital’s Parry Shen (Brad Cooper) who shared his first video on Tiktok. The actor recently returned to the show and captioned his instructional video with:
My 1st TikTok ever! The world needs to know the easiest way to make 🌽 on the cob! (P.S. Add 4 min with each add’l ear!) Enjoy! 😋 #corn #wolverine #spidermanandhisamazingfriends #foodhack
Over on Instagram, Shen shared the same video, writing,
I Tik’d my first Tok! Every time I make 🌽 corn on the cob like this, I feel like I have gained hours of my life back. Time wasted checking if it’s boiled enough, shucking, then dealing with the maddening strands of corn silk that seemingly never seem to end.

He then added,
The world needs to know. As The Mandalorian would say, “This is the way”. You’re welcome - enjoy! (PS: Add 4 mins with each additional ear!) (PSS: I didn’t waste any corn - I ate that ‘lil piece too!) #corn #wolverine #spidermanandhisamazingfriends
He started the video by saying,
This is honestly the best cooking hack ever.
Shen then put an ear of corn still in the husk in the microwave for four minutes. He instructed the viewers to pull the corn out using a hand towel to prevent burning, then grabbed a serrated knife. He explained that the larger end of the corn needed to be cut off, but the cook should be careful to position the knife a little further down the ear shaft because if it gets too close to the edge, his method won’t work properly.
He then instructed to squeeze the towel, thereby squeezing the husk, which causes the ear of corn to easily slide right out, remarking,
It comes all out without any of the little threads of hairs.
His trick for eating it was by using small corn holders with little spikes on them. However, he held up a standard one that’s yellow and in the shape of an ear of corn, and stated,
But, of course, this is my house, so we grab one of these things.
He then showed a similar device that was shaped like the blue-gloved fist from the X-Men character Wolverine, with its claws as the prongs for holding the corn.
Shen ended the video with Marvel’s Wolverine using his claws to grab fruit. His Australian accent in that clip makes it apparent that it was from when the X-Men guest-starred in the 1980s cartoon Spiderman and His Amazing Friends, which left fans scratching their heads as to why Wolverine spoke that way. One fan enthusiastically responded,
I gotta try this! Need cool corn holders though 🤣💙🤘🏼🔥
Now that Brad has his job back on General Hospital, you know there will definitely be some hilarity in his scenes. Shen has also shown that he can be incredibly funny in real life with his various social media posts. Now that he’s also on Tiktok, the sky’s the limit for whatever hijinks he’ll come up with next.
