Help for the victims of the California wildfire has come in a variety of forms. One that was surprising and incredibly generous was from General Hospital’s Matt Cohen, whose character Griffin Munro hasn’t been seen in quite some time. Lately, he’s been working on his fun new Public Domain project, but he took some time to help out his fellow Californians.
He’s there for everyone
On Instagram, Cohen simply wrote, “#Family.” Accompanying that was a video in which he stated, “To my LA friends, uh, if any of you are…displaced for any reason whatsoever…” he stumbled over the next part and then explained, “I have so many numbers in my phone I can't text everybody.”

To illustrate what an incredibly nice guy he is, he continued by explaining, “I have room. I have room, I have clothes, I have food, I have showers. I have fresh air-filtered air conditioning systems running in my house if you need a place to go. Reach out to me any way and every way. I'll check socials all day. I know it's a complete catastrophe in the Palisades and the surrounding areas, so I'm here if you need anything. Safety. Let me be your person to turn to. Love you all.”
His post was met with dozens of heart emojis. User @histficwrtr praised Cohen with the response, “You’re a good soul.” @heyitscin also chimed in with a much broader reply, “Sending love to everyone effected 💛.”
@miri1102 sadly wrote, “We lost our house in the fire and seeing posts like this makes me have faith in humanity again. Thank you🙏.” Condolences from all over came in, including from abroad, with @jeky78.s responding, “@miri_1102_ I'm so sorry for you…Sending you love from Italy❤️❤️❤️.”
In and around the love and prayers sent to Cohen, @debbiemaas72 commented, “Thank you for doing this. Stay safe yourself.” Many of his followers continued the outpouring of love, with @bjtripp2 writing, “Thank you Matt for your kindness in opening your home & heart to help your fellow Californians.” The praise continued with @taylor.richardsss summing up the collective fan responses with, “You are truly an amazing person Matt. My heart goes out to everyone being affected by this tragedy. Thoughts and prayers being sent to the whole state of Cali. ❤️.”
