Kin Shriner, whose General Hospital character Scotty Baldwin hasn’t been on the show for several months, continues to engage fans on social media. Having previously shared his deep Hollywood roots, he also has a deep love of Old Hollywood. His recent post completely illustrated his love of classic films and legendary actors.

Screens and scenes are his kind of dreams

General Hospital’s beloved Kin Shriner posted a video of him watching a movie on TV. He captioned it, “Hard Times, a fav!!!!” While it’s not quite “Old Hollywood,” young folks today would consider Walter Hill’s classic 1975 movie Hard Times old. But a good movie’s a good movie, and Shriner knows that. The film stars the legendary Charles Bronson (Death Wish, 1974), the equally legendary James Coburn (Our Man Flint, 1966), and Bronson’s wife, Jill Ireland (The Valachi Paper, 1972). Reliable character actor Strother Martin, who’s been in a zillion movies, rounded out the impressive cast.

In his video, General Hospital’s Kin Shriner was watching a major shootout scene from Hard Times, and after briefly acting out part of the gunfight, he sounded like Yoda when he stated, “Rainy night in LA, much needed. Also, Charles Bronson and James Coburn much needed.” @nannettebateu, clearly a film lover, responded, “I was watching, Paul Newman 100 birthday celebration. Amazing movies. Enjoy, Kin.”

@robinbonaguro replied, “We sure do need the rain out here. It's nice to see you. Enjoy those great old Movies from TCM. Good stuff. ❤️.” TCM, of course, is a great cable channel called Turner Classic Movies that plays films from all eras.

Many fans exclaimed that they also liked watching older movies with @jackievollrath writing, “Kin I love all the movies you watch on TCM. I try to watch a lot of what you watch too if I can get them. Enjoy!❤️.”

The conversation also turned to Shriner’s General Hospital status with an overwhelming amount of fans clamoring for his return. While @smmilyniz2 commented, “Love, love, love you on GH. ♥️,” @giseashell also chimed in with, “Miss you so much on General Hospital ❤️ you!” @joyce.wood.940 combined the collective thinking with the remark, “Love Charles Bronson movies...miss you on GH❤️.”

And @lindacicci1 gave a poignant reply with, “GH is sadly missing all the humor your character gave us for many years…you have always been one of my favorites throughout the years…always keeping it real👏👏👏 . The writers really have it wrong in not giving you more screen time. I hope they rectify their mistake soon....much love to you❤️❤️❤️❤️.” (Take a trip down memory lane with Shriner and John Stamos.)

You can watch new episodes of General Hospital on ABC and Hulu.
