Kimberly McCullough, who is best known for her role as Robin Scorpio-Drake on General Hospital, has been spending her days as a director in the past few years. But she keeps in constant contact with her fans, even sharing her recent icy birthday celebration. And now she shared a post about an upcoming project she’s attached to.
It’s a musical
On Instagram, McCullough shared an article from Deadline and wrote, “Thrilled to be working with this incredible team!” According to the outlet, the team she’s working with is the cast and crew of a new feature titled No Te Olvides, which is Spanish for “Don’t Forget.”
The film stars Xochitl Gomez, who was famously in 2022’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Maite Perroni, an actress and singer known for her work on the Mexican telenovela Rebelde is co-starring in the feature. According to its IMDb page, the movie is a musical that “Tells the story of Maria, a closeted twenty-something Chicana as she takes her grandmother Elena back to her very musically inclined ancestral village in Mexico for one last trip.”
The movie, which is in the pre-production stages, is set to film in autumn. GH’s Finola Hughes, who plays Port Charles police commissioner and mother of Robin, Anna Devane, responded, “Yessssssss!!!! Let’s goooo!!!” The fans were truly elated as congratulations poured in from everywhere.
The fans are excited

@jodyfm commented, “So happy for you, Kimberly! Sounds like a very cool project!” while @anne_renton responded, “Brilliant- congratulations!! 🙌🏼👏🏼.” Another Kimberly, @kimberleycooper76, passionately wrote, “❤️👏👏👏 that is so Fantastic!!! Yayyyyyyyyy Kimberly!!🙌”
While the cast list hasn’t been released beyond the two leads, actor Anthony Estrada replied, “Woot woot!! So pumped to have you aboard!” Superfan @jenlovesyankees eagerly responded with, “Congratulations @kimmeabreak, I'm pulling for you !! You've become [a] great director…keep shining, Kimberly.”
Bringing his talent to the film, music video director Fernando Bandera is producing. In 1993, he produced Johnny One Hundred Pesos, and in 2017, revisited that movie’s universe with the sequel, Johnny 100 Pesos: 20 Years and a Day Later.
GH fans are always excited when McCullough brings Robin back to Port Charles, but are equally enthused that her directing career has taken off incredibly. Although this film is a musical, it’s in good hands with its helmer, who previously worked on High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, directing 14 episodes between 2019 and 2023.
