Since news of Kelly Monaco's shocking General Hospital exit broke at the end of August, the actress has remained relatively silent. Now, she has shared her first post directly talking about it.
A final General Hospital photo
On October 6, Monaco took to Instagram to share a final photo of GH's beloved Davis girls, comprised of Monaco's Sam, Kate Mansi's Kristina, Kristen Vaganos' Molly, and their on-screen mom, Nancy Lee Grahn as Alexis.
"Last scene with the Davis girls. 😘🥲🙏🏻 still doesn’t make any sense to me," was all she wrote.

Grahn commented on the photo with a quote from Albert Einstein, as well as her own words.
"'In the middle of every difficulty lies opportunity.' — Albert Einstein. I love you. All will be well. There are some things a TV mother just knows," Grahn wrote.
On September 15, Monaco posted a few words commemorating the first anniversary of the death of her co-star and close friend Billy Miller. She also shared some words as a comment on an Instagram post from Soap Hub, talking about how Sam changed during her final years on GH.
Monaco's exit shocks all
After 21 years of loving Sam McCall, Monaco's fans have been devastated by the news that she was let go from GH. Monaco celebrated her 21st anniversary as Sam on October 1 but taped her last scenes on September 27. The actress' mother, Carmina Monaco, tweeted about her daughter's last day on the GH set.
"I want to take this moment to reach out to Kelly’s incredible fans and express my deepest gratitude for the unwavering love, loyalty, and support you’ve shown her throughout her time on General Hospital," Carmina wrote on X (formerly Twitter). "On this final day, just four days shy of the anniversary of her first episode on October 1, 2003, Kelly will close the door of her dressing room for the last time. This moment is a difficult one, but knowing that she has had such an incredible, devoted fan base has given her strength. You’ve stood by her through every twist and turn, celebrating her achievements and providing comfort in the hard times. Your love and dedication have meant more than words can express, not only to Kelly but to all of us who care so deeply for her. Thank you for being there, for believing in her, and for reminding her of the impact she’s made. We will always be grateful for you standing with her through it all."
Word is that Sam is set to be killed this fall, but how the character will die has been kept under wraps.
