General Hospital star Jonathan Jackson is back home in Port Charles
The General Hospital family welcomed Jonathan Jackson back to the fold on August 6 when the actor returned to the GH set for the first time since 2015.
The official GH Instagram account shared a snap of Jackson in the studio halls, posing next to a poster advertising Luke and Laura's big 1993 return. Jackson was only eleven years old at the time when he made his debut as Lucky.
"We are so very lucky (see what we did there) to have @jonathanjacksonhq back in the building... and you won’t have to wait long to see what he has in store for Port Charles," the caption read.

Jackson's first storyline began with Luke and Laura fleeing the Triple L Diner because mobster Frank Smith had found them. Eventually, the couple and their son made it to Port Charles and settled into a new life.
News of Jackson's big return broke at the end of June, to much fanfare. The character had not been seen since 2015 when Jackson appeared for several episodes to track down Elizabeth's presumed-dead son, Jake. After finding the boy on Cassadine Island, Lucky brought him home to his mother and took off back to Africa. While Laura has visited her son several times and occasionally speaks of him, he has not been seen on-screen in nearly a decade.
More of Lucky's story to be told
Jackson first played Lucky from 1993 to 1999. He returned to the show a decade after he first left, after Jacob Young and Greg Vaughan had also played the role. Jackson's second General Hospital stint lasted from 2009 to 2011, folllowed by his brief 2015 return.
During his years away from the GH scene, Jackson starred in the hit primetime series Nashville and established a successful music career highlighted by appearances at the famed Grand Ole Opry music hall.
When his 2024 return was announced, Jackson took to X with a short video to express his excitement.
"I’m super excited and can’t wait to dig in and see what’s going on in Port Charles," he said. "Excited to see Genie Francis, obviously, and so many others. Just wanted to say thank you to all of the fans over the years. Your persistence and love have certainly played a part in all this. Just wanted to say thank you."
How Lucky is reintroduced to the Port Charles scene remains to be seen, but we're sure it will be chock full of drama, especially after all the years he spent away from his now-teenage son, Aiden.
