General Hospital star Finola Hughes (Anna) has a great love for the cinema. She recently paid tribute to the late director David Lynch, citing his surreal works among some of her favorite films. Hughes had attended a play in which a Hollywood star from yesteryear appeared, and she had nothing but praise for the actress.
She’s beloved
General Hospital’s Finola Hughes wrote on Instagram, “Some performances just stun you from the jump! @francesfisher last night as Linda Loman in Death of a Salesman killed it. Tender, nuanced, funny, sweet and simple. I loved her. The entire company of actors made you feel you were in their living room. Quite something @colonytheatre 👏🏻.”

Along with her words was a picture of Hughes and iconic actress Frances Fisher, who is holding a bouquet presumably given to her by Hughes. Former co-star Evan Hofer, who played Dex on General Hospital, responded, “@finolafilona and @francesfisher this is my new favorite picture! ❤️,” and Hughes replied, “@evanhofer haha 😉.”
Fisher began her career on the soap Edge of Night, playing Deborah Saxon from 1976 to 1981. Over the years, Fisher appeared in numerous TV shows including Roseanne, Days of Our Lives, and The Rookie. She’s also graced the silver screen in many films, including House of Sand and Fog (2003), Striptease (1996), and the mega-hit Titanic (1997). She also has a vast and extensive career in the theater, which includes The Hunchback of Notre Dame and The Cherry Orchard, among many other plays. (Find out why Fisher moved in next to Sami on DAYS.)
Beth Gallagher Photography couldn’t help but respond succinctly, “This!🔥🙌.” @vbrat1 echoed Hofer’s sentiment, writing, “Two simply lovely ladies:) .” @me_the_gma lovingly responded, “She looks gorgeous like she hasn’t even aged. God bless her. Thank you for sharing this.” A fan named @theaandrea wrote, “I agree Finola! I saw the play on opening night!!🙌🏻👏🏻🙋🏻♀️.”
@paulinekava remembered Fisher’s career, responding, “I remember her from The Edge of Night. Great actress!” According to Fisher’s IMDb page, Fisher played Suzette Saxon on Edge for three episodes in 1985. @wendykayestitches praised Fisher by responding, “She's just brilliant. I have never seen her choose a bad project or turn in anything less than an astounding performance ❤️.”
And @trueheart316 had an interesting fact about Fisher to share: “A tidbit people may not know but Frances was on the pilot episode of Home Improvement with Tim Allen as his wife😊 Not sure why she didn’t continue with the show. Patricia Richardson took over the role.”
