General Hospital’s esplanade story has fans irritated

On General Hospital, Drew (Cameron Mathison) had begun work on an esplanade project that would be named in honor of the late congressman, Larry McConkey (Sam McMurray). But as Drew went on to take the congressman’s place, Curtis (Donnell Turner) stepped in to run Drew’s company, Aurora Media. However, Curtis learned that Drew had promised the Aurora CEO position to him, the newly-minted politician was going to double-cross him and appoint Michael (Chad Duell). So, Curtis and Michael were able to wrestle control of the company away from Drew. But with his new political power, he’s putting the screws to the esplanade project, making Curtis’ life very difficult, and fans are annoyed by the storyline.

Fast forward has become the fans’ go-to button

@LSA7M wrote on X, formerly Twitter, “#GH Does ANYONE care about this esplanade BS?? 🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱.” Their comment struck a chord with quite a few fans. @jean_mybiz responded, “I don’t even listen when this is on,” to which @LSA7M hilariously replied, “I don’t ever wanna hear the word “esplanade” ever again 🤫😂.”

Another bored fan, @Amaya1531, commented, “I only care if Drew doesn’t win lol! 😂,” and @LSA7M chimed in with, “Everyone has told me that 😅.” @abrattain admitted they didn’t know what the General Hospital characters were even talking about, replying, “What even is an esplanade?? Sooooo don’t care.” @LSA7M had an answer for their fellow fan, writing, “Right? 😂 I had to look it up... a long, open area next to a river or body of water where people can walk.”

@AndrewMellein had a great suggestion with, “If it’s making Drew to be a bad guy then I am here for it. He needs to go full evil. So Sonny [Maurice Benard] and Jason [Steve Burton] can take him down!” @LSA7M got to the root of their issue by replying to that comment: “I just need them to stop saying, ‘esplanade.’ 🤪.” @AndrewMellein then responded, “I just want Drew to have a hidden motive and for him to be totally evil. Wanting to kill Jason!”

While fans who live in or near Boston, Massachusetts are familiar with the term, @MichelleRFair also didn’t know what ‘esplanade’ meant, hysterically commenting, “I don’t even know what tf that is and don’t care enough to google 🥱.”

Michael learned that his wife Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) was having an affair with Drew, and happened to find nanny cam footage that showed the two doing the deed. So far, only his family has seen it, but @maureen2912 suggested that because Drew’s becoming more and more of a jerk, “Is it time to release the nanny cam footage?!?” @LSA7M agreed, writing and sharing an animated gif that stated, “Bring it on.”
