General Hospital’s Holly Sutton (Emma Samms) made the shocking revelation that not only was Sasha Corbin (Sofia Mattsson) her daughter, but Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) is the father. After stealing diamonds from the villain Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) and driving the vehicle that helped Lucky, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes), and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) escape Sidwell’s camp, Holly’s back in Port Charles. Now, Sidwell is headed to Port Charles to recoup his lost merchandise, and the two stories may soon collide.
The fans are invested in the characters
Samms enthusiastically told Soap Opera Digest:
The consequences of her stealing from Sidwell carries on, and it’s a lovely sort of second thread to the whole family drama. So, it’s a combination of international intrigue and family drama.

Action/adventure and intrigue/espionage are facets of daytime dramas that General Hospital pioneered in the 1980s, and fans continue to enjoy it when the show takes them on a thrill ride.
With the twisty family drama that’s been unfolding, Samms explained,
We do it for people to take a side, to have an opinion, to feel invested.
Whether or not the fans are happy or disappointed with a particular storyline doesn’t bother Samms because she feels that they’re at least talking about it:
Tristan and I were really, really pleased that we have a story that’s got so much to it.
A new team-up has major story potential
Having now worked with Mattsson, Samms was also excited to be working with other actors like Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos). Holly needs to fence the diamonds she stole to not only get the money but get them out of her possession as quickly as possible. Naturally, she turned to our favorite gangster, Sonny, to make them disappear. Both Samms and Benard requested that the writers put them in scenes together, and her reason for meeting with Sonny was organic—coming right out of her storyline.
She felt that because the scenes with him were so dialogue-heavy, she questioned whether she had done a good job, remarking,
It was a monster day of dialogue for me, and that was one of those days where I went away feeling, ‘Oh, I could have done that better.’
She hoped that executive producer Frank Valentini and the audience would be happy with the scenes. It’s surprising that Holly and Sonny haven’t worked together before, considering she’s a career con artist. But the two of them make for good scene partners, and a happy Samms hopes the two will cross paths even more in the future:
It’s two people having a proper conversation and I think their encounter was interesting and well-written. I think it could lead to me more, and that’s one of the loveliest things for me about this particular visit, which is that I worked with so many different people.
With Sidwell headed for Port Charles, many people will be caught in his crosshairs. If Sonny agrees to buy the diamonds, he’ll be added to that list because the villain has proven he’ll kill to get them back. But with Robert and Anna on one side of Holly, and Sonny and Jason on the other, Sidwell’s going to be in for a surprise if he tries to forcibly take the diamonds back.
