"Our children have been and will continue to be our highest priority, and we will forever share in our devotion and love for them," they continued. "We remain friends, and both wish the best for one another. We sincerely appreciate your respect for our family’s privacy during this transition."'
The actor recently shared snaps of Leila's high school graduation, writing, "A chapter closes and a new one begins as Leila graduates high school. Your dedication, resilience, and passion have brought you to this moment, and I couldn’t be prouder. You amaze me every single day. I love you so much. Here’s to all the adventures that lie ahead."
Cameron and Vanessa's romance
Mathison met Vanessa in 1998, the same year he landed the role of Ryan Lavery on All My Children, a character he played until the soap was canceled in 2011.
In between All My Children ending and taking over the part of Drew Quartermaine on GH, Mathison was the host of Hallmark's Home & Family and worked as a correspondent for Entertainment Tonight.
When Vanessa appeared briefly on GH in 2022 as Carly's executive coach, Mia, Mathison discussed their relationship with ET.
"We've been married 20 years coming up this summer, and it hasn't all been smooth, for sure," he admitted. "We went through rocky times the first five years. Getting through those times, and getting to call Vanessa my best friend and fully enjoy every moment together, it's been better than I could have ever imagined marriage being for me."
